It’s overland AF, not overload AF.[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 8:04 pmThose aren’t current gen Colobrahdoes and they’re not even US spec, bruh.

Another 'Rado bent frame with story (same as picture posted above). News is traveling quickly and this is going to bite GM and the resale value of the trucks.
In the story the trailer was 2100lbs and the tars were an inch taller then stock, enough to void warranty claims.

Not only the trailers, but what is under the caps as well. 2 trucks that have had this happen seem to be rather similar situations with out giving full details.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:52 am Let's see the full picture of those trailers.
I guarantee that the tongue weight is too heavy. You've got complicated physics, and many truck owners can't grasp simple math.
I'm not sticking up for the trucks here, but we're seeing a very skewed narrative.

Right. Gotta look at the entire load. Payload and towing capacity are NOT mutually exclusive. Need to consider both. A bed that's at full capacity plus a trailer at full capacity could cause issues.Apex wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 5:03 pmNot only the trailers, but what is under the caps as well. 2 trucks that have had this happen seem to be rather similar situations with out giving full details.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:52 am Let's see the full picture of those trailers.

I've WAY overloaded F150s with absolutely no issues in the past. Like.... 500 lbs payload over their rated, lawl. That said I was on smooth roads going 10 MPH tops.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 4:03 pm I dunno man, truck frames should not bend unless there is EPIC overload.
These guys are towing a trailer over the rated capacity OFF ROAD hitting rocks/ruts/ditches/whatever and they damaged the truck. They claim they "hit a bump" and it bent. If I "hit a bump" on that F150 while way overloaded I'd expect to damage something. I don't understand these overlanders that must bring absolutely everything they own off road with them.
I mean look at where it bent, right at the shocks. "Hit a bump", bottomed the suspension out, slammed the bump stops with a trailer that's over weight and probably over tongue and well there you go.

Yea, these dudes are likely going way too fast off-road at well over capacity.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 9:07 amI've WAY overloaded F150s with absolutely no issues in the past. That said, I'm really glad I changed jobs.

The truth came out and apparently that "bump" was something like a 3ft whoop and he was doing 40 mph. The trailer was also 2900lbs dry.

Yea...this makes sense. I'm not sure there's any vehicles aside from maybe a Power Wagon that could handle that.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 12:13 pm The truth came out and apparently that "bump" was something like a 3ft whoop and he was doing 40 mph. The trailer was also 2900lbs dry.

Yeah, I couldn't care less about a heated steering wheel - we have them on some of the Mazderps and it's not a game changer for me.
Heated seats, though - that's a must.
I want cooled seats on my next car. That would be awesome.

So epic, and same price as a comparably equipped Gladiator.
