LIke my M3 doesn't have PARK! now that shit is annoying AF. The vallet last weekend LEFT IT IN GEAR, and OPENED THE DOOR, thankfully the car went into N but either way... that shit was annoying AF. I wish I didn't have to Valet but it was the only way to park at the company event.

Limp dick update. Give it an engine/transmission change. And rear disc. Why the hell they still put shit ass drums on the back of these at $40k+ I have no idea.

Or give it hybrid power. That would be cool.

We know they're gonna milk this chassis/cab for another 4-6 years at least...

Ranger recall seems to be super limited, but potentially serious. Being able to move out of park when the truck is off is bad.

But this is normal early build shit IMO

This thing isn't worth more than $12k to me TOP. I'm sure it'll brush $20k, which makes zero sense.
It's an old truck with a 5.3 swap. It's checking all the right boxes this day and age.

Nevermind that it has 3.08 gearing and is going to be an absolute dog for acceleration.

If people keep spending stupid money for vehicles with old tech, then there is no incentive to change things up.

Having driven the Tacoma, I don't see what the hoopla is all about. It does nothing remarkably well.

I don't like the Tacoma, but I'll always support the drum brakes decision.

The only reason most cars went away is that the perception is they're inferior, when they're not at all.

Drums are not perfectly fine. They are BEANCOUNTER POVERTY BRAKES. Who wants to go buy a $40K truck and have drums staring back at you every time you look at the rear wheels? They just scream "Toyota saved $6.15 on each Tacoma by giving you technology from 1959! You could have bought a way better truck for the same money but you had to have a TACO :bruh: because LEGENDARY!"

Performance is the same. Can barely see the drums through the 16" wheels anyway.

I doubt it.

I can't even see the rear discs on my truck through the 17" wheels unless I look for them.

I also care... Does it really make any difference on the rear of a :truk: ? I doubt it, but it's still just :disgust: , technology marches on. Flip phones can still call people, but I'm not using one, and I don't even give a shit about phones.

No...but only because it's designed for a car and not a truck. An ancient pushrod torque monster V6 would be way more acceptable.

:dat: so a lot of jk dudes were bitching at the switch from 3.8 to 3.6. It’s quicker on paper due to trans but during dd or off roading the 3.8 was :notbad:

I was considering one, as well. One with a 6 speed manual had finally come within a reasonable distance for me to go test drive. So I did, and it was one big pile of "meh."
