The wife called me today to just tell me that she hit a chunk of pavement that was kicked up from the vehicle in front of her.
I think that the base Stinger on 17s for example would be a great compromise. Still a decent handling RWD-based sporty thing but with some clearance and a big hatch to haul crap, plus 30 mpg instead of 20 on the highway.
Yeah, the C5 scrapes on every damn thing here and is very annoying to DD because of it. The BMW scraps on nothing ever and can be driven totally NFG but is still entertaining-ish to drive compared to a Tacoma or something.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 12:28 pmI'm fine with a regular car. I know a LOT of people that DGAF about cars that have damaged wheels and have sworn off "low profile tires". They're now in CUVs.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 12:07 pmI dunno, we've driven all over the region and it's bad everywhere. I really think it's a big contributing factor to crossover adoption.

Yea, it's squishy, but it handles bad pavement so well that it's It's actually fun to mow over everything in a car.

I'm paying more than you are. PA has the highest gas tax in the country. And how many times have you run into a road deformation so violent that it feels like someone took a sledgehammer and hit your dashboard with it? That's a regular occurrence if you're on PA highways. My car resists it better than the GTI's mushy dampers ever did, but it still happens.
JL fuel economy is decent for DD, if you go that route, my average is ~22.5mpg and highway i got ~26mpg going up to Jersey, and when I drive in DC its between 19-20mpg, on the 6-cylinder at that.
Also rip NE roads. That was one nice thing in Florida (and so far most of VA). Good roads. And FL doesn't even tax

But it doesn't exist. CX5 Turbo is the closest thing.

Parked next to a BASE 2 door JL this morning. Soft top, everything, including trans. Dude had it on 33's and these no-frills black aluminum wheels. Looked awesome.
