Her cars are write-offs - 75% of the mileage she does is work-related. :aintcare:

All the big trips are done in my cars.
o it was totaled when she bought it? :impressive:

I'm fine with a regular car. The wife's mazderp has 6 or so inches of clearance and runs 16" :ramz: and it's fine, but I don't have any interest in driving anything lower than that in the North. There is an acceptable middle ground between :poorvette: and :truk:

I think that the base Stinger on 17s for example would be a great compromise. Still a decent handling RWD-based sporty thing but with some clearance and a big hatch to haul crap, plus 30 mpg instead of 20 on the highway. :iono: :wrong:

Yeah, the C5 scrapes on every damn thing here and is very annoying to DD because of it. The BMW scraps on nothing ever and can be driven totally NFG but is still entertaining-ish to drive compared to a Tacoma or something.

Yeah. You have it worse I'm sure. Some of the roads in NY had actual signs up that said "Rough Road 5 Mi" lol.... like they acknowledge it and DGAF here's a $2k sign instead of a paving job.
I dunno, we've driven all over the region and it's bad everywhere. It's going to become a major issue as all states claim to be too poor to fix it. I'm not even sure what all my state income tax, car reg, and property tax go to anymore. I really think it's a big contributing factor to crossover adoption.
I know a LOT of :derp: people that DGAF about cars that have damaged wheels and have sworn off "low profile tires". They're now in CUVs.

Everyone has their preferences. I just have no interest in a sedan with balloon tires.
:225: 50/17 is a pretty good middle ground. The whole "must go full caged racecar or full :truk: with no compromises allowed" mentality is :notsure:

There are in fact shades of :notbad: in between an F1 car and a Baja truck.

205/65r15 on the Volt has been pretty great.

Yea, it's squishy, but it handles bad pavement so well that it's :notbad: It's actually fun to mow over everything in a car.

I'm paying more than you are. PA has the highest gas tax in the country. And how many times have you run into a road deformation so violent that it feels like someone took a sledgehammer and hit your dashboard with it? That's a regular occurrence if you're on PA highways. My car resists it better than the GTI's mushy dampers ever did, but it still happens.

JL fuel economy is decent for DD, if you go that route, my average is ~22.5mpg and highway i got ~26mpg going up to Jersey, and when I drive in DC its between 19-20mpg, on the 6-cylinder at that.

Also rip NE roads. That was one nice thing in Florida (and so far most of VA). Good roads. And FL doesn't even tax

I actually would legit love an Alltrack with the GTI's 2.0T.

But it doesn't exist. CX5 Turbo is the closest thing.
A Turbro crosstrek or 2.0T Alltrack would be 5/7.

Olive green with 32k and crank everything. Soft top.

Seems fairly clean. Has Bedtred liners inside.

Parked next to a BASE 2 door JL this morning. Soft top, :manuel: everything, including trans. Dude had it on 33's and these no-frills black aluminum wheels. Looked awesome.
