The steel wheels are really looking. The irony of it all while most are loading up a good portion of the jeeps with options a base 2 door JL can be had for 23-25k after discounts. Which is not worlds apart from a clean 20 year old 50-60k mile TJ for 15-8k, or tju which go for 18-25. Yet the JL is better in every way shape and form. I don’t understand the Jeep 2nd Hand market

I spent some time looking at it because I hadn't seen one before...it was legit Interior looked nice for being base, small infotainment screen but in a It had really nice ground clearance with the larger tires, and it didn't appear to have a lift (not sure it's needed for 33's).max225 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:24 amThe steel wheels are really looking. Why anyone would buy a TJ or JK for a similar price is beyond me. I was/am really intrigued.

For a toy, that's pretty compelling.

You can throw a set of rubicunt take off wheels for $1000 on it, nice lights for $400 and maybe a stereo upgrade for $500 and you’re set. You can also get take off rubicon sliders for $100 it’ll look like a rubicon ... for the price of a modded tj

Looks badass on steelies with a lift.
I'd totally just do a JL Sport S. For my use, it'd be perfect, and you can get the cloth seats with heat.
Bro I parked next to replaced the wheels with black aluminum "Moto Metal" wheels. Oddly, they weren't blinged out at all, looked like steelies at first glance.
those steelies look great. Agreed, a Sport S would be pretty ideal.

Every jeep needs
35"+tires
2.5"+lift
new wheels obviously... with fake beadlocks because real ones are too much money
light bar +off road lights
recovery gear for the mall
CB radio

Just discovered you can get a base Gladiator with 4.10's if you equip the max tow pack.

Any word on what kind of LSD is in the JL? Clutch type?

"Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle" assuming some sort of clutch type. How well it works remains to be seen. Rubi has open diffs with E lockers.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:54 pmThis.

That's the only way you get to the 7500 towing and payload. Everything else is less. Rubi is 6500 IIRC. It was a spec specifically designed for marketing purposes, as I am sure the take rate will be >5% on this thing

Once people figure out that it's a way to get 4.10s in a lower trim truck, it'll sell ok. I'd buy one with the pack just for the 4.10s.

Wheeling bro. Combined with 4lo, 4.10's make a nice crawl ratio.

If you wanted to "wheel" a 30" shorter and 500lbs lighter JL seems like the way to go. The Gladiator is YUGE and terribly underpowered.

Doubt the Sport will be that expensive.
