That couple would be perfect for a new Civic. Time to end that “Jeep” dream and face the music of not quite outdoor type humans. Stay on the road sell the Jeep.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:34 am https://www.yahoo.com/gma/california-co ... _test=2_13

Nah, not you. Delete/modify/move their shit, gang up against opinions, tell em to go elsewhere if they don’t fit a pre determined opinions of those that run this place, yep. Less so than other places, but still happens here.

So to talk about Jeeps again...
My dad, who recently retired, has decided that he wants to buy a ~20 foot camper to cruise around the region and maybe country in. Trailer and gear is maybe 5k lbs, and he asked what the right tow vehicle would be. $30-40k price. He doesn't want a and he doesn't want something "boring".
A Grand Cherokee SRT with tow package can do 7k lbs. seems pretty ideal, and used they're well within his budget. Anyone ever drive one? With the 6.4L, I bet it's a riot.

I have not driven the WK2 version of the SRT, which I thought was only 5k lbs towing but could be wrong.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:50 am So to talk about Jeeps again...

I have driven the previous WK gen version and hory sheit. Great noises, and does things that seem to defy physics for a vehicle of that size. Only downside was I thought the brakes were a little soft for a rig with waxable brembros.

I’ve heard the SRT JGCs have electrical gremlins, but very hit or miss.

From, what I've read, there's a HD towing package that ups towing to 7k. Maybe that's forumbro ?Apex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:57 amI have not driven the WK2 version of the SRT, which I thought was only 5k lbs towing but could be wrong.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:50 am So to talk about Jeeps again...

Odd about the brakes. I figured those would be the strongest part of the truck.

For a non-SRT JGC that makes sense, but I didn't think that was available for the SRT.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 9:03 amFrom, what I've read, there's a HD towing package that ups towing to 7k. Maybe that's forumbro ?Apex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:57 am

Yeah, the brakes were weird, but then again this is a sample size of 1.

I just did the build and price, there's a max tow package offered for the SRT. On the specs page, it claims to increase towing to 7,200.
I think I need to find one for my dad to test drive.

Go for it! Would be a solid option to tow a smallish travel trailer around with.
