Doubt the Sport will be that expensive.

Wheeling bro. Combined with 4lo, 4.10's make a nice crawl ratio.
If you wanted to "wheel" a 30" shorter and 500lbs lighter JL seems like the way to go. The Gladiator is YUGE and terribly underpowered.
Gearing makes up for the power. The length is a concern :doe:

Looked it up, wheelbase is 10" longer than my Colorado, and it's 6" longer overall. Dang.

They wouldn't have rated it as they did if it was going to be a "death trap", but indeed that engine seems underpowered a bit.

Seriously.

My truck can go pretty much anywhere I want. But adding 10" to the wheelbase would make things quite a bit more challenging.

As I mentioned only 1 model is rated that "high". The rest seems a bit :notsure:

When twisting through the Pines with the Colorado, I've often remarked that if the truck were any bigger, I couldn't do it.

JLG is a long bitch.
You just end up plowing your own path. People fart around in the pines in Silverados and F150s all the time. Their trucks look like shit because of scratches but they dgaf.

There certainly is not a want for more wheelbase... I've been looking at some rear bumpers to get some better departure angle... AKA waiting on AEV to release pricing on their Bison bumper. I think it's Relentless has another nice looking rear bumper where the hitch receiver is behind the license plate. Nifty spot for it.

Anybody seriously towing more than 5k lbs buys a full size anyway because bigger is better.

Anything over that is a just a pissing contest for advertising claims.

I mean some guys at work go there all the time. One has an old jeep with super swampers. The other has a 2008?? Silverado with a steel bumper he made on his own (he's a welder so it looks not bad), but his truck is otherwise rather trashed but he aint care.

Anybody towing anything larger than a harbor freight $150 trailer needs a diesel 3500 duh. If it has to downshift going up a 10,000 ft mountain pass pulling 8k lbs it's a piece of shit.

Telling you guys, I made it up half the switchbacks on black bear pass in CO in a fucking 5 cyl Jetta. If I had an Outback I'd have made it all the way to the power station.

If I had to make food up there I'd have been fucked with bland ass :crang: style flavorless chicken.

I had a lot of full size :truk: guys laughing at me, and actually rather surprised that it made it as far as it did. :aintcare: my legs work and I can walk it if needed, unlike their fat gut asses. Why are most overlanders fat retired people?
