The wage gap thing really is a big problem. Unfortunately I don't see it getting solved any time soon.
Someone has to make less so others can make more. That will never happen.
Yeah man.
My bankrupt company that illegally lowered health and 7% pension benefits for the union got their peepee slapped by the .gov and had to reinstate it retroactively for the union employees. They knew this would be a problem for the salary employees. So they're GRACIOUSLY giving us a 3% pension effective Jan 1st. We should be happy!
Fucking taking the shaft is what's happening. Plant manager has taken the firm stance that everyone should be happy they're getting anything, as it's a massive cost to the company to do so. He asked what the discussion has been in engineering and I can't exactly tell him people are pissed because it'll cast a negative light onto my millennials. So I say I haven't heard any talk on it, they may just be keeping quiet
Also we're being bankrolled by JHIINA now. BofA used to bankroll all our crude oil. Now it'll be China bank or whatever.

Say what you want about unions and how they cripple companies (many times they do) but they DO prevent this sort of fuckery horseshit.
Yeah, 401ks were never supposed to replace pensions, but instead they were supposed to supplement them.
Fat cats at the top of the stack don't care though.
Just wait till they prop up Social Security with the 401k/pension/IRA market. You think there is fuckery with the government messing with wall street now....

I'm putting enough in the 401k to max the company match. I'll throw another % at it next year when I get my next raise. Other than that, it's continue paying down debt and enjoying life in the present. I'll in the next couple of years and go from there.
