Damn the wants. Glad it's not close to me.
Just loop it into your boatstravaganza. Washington state isn't that much further.
Just hook up a train to the CT? The 3.6 would love that.
Nah, I'm going to try replacing fun cars with the boat for a while. Might not work, but so far other than being tempted by beauties like this thing, I don't miss having something "fun" that sits 95% of the time. I never drive anywhere, what's the point? I think I'd rather go blast around the bay in the boat for fun than drive around on roads with everywhere.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

If I have to get 30 more times done in 30k miles it would be
Rubber breaks down, fluids leak, shocks lose pressure... old cars need love dude.
My point wasn't to argue the semantics of maintenance, but rather to say, "Hey, here's an old MINI with the right parts, the right color, and the right condition, at a great price."
Have some heart, put the abacus away.
I am with you... but there are a scary number of parts that were replaced by 6xk miles wouldn't you agree?

Nope. I've done all of this on my car, except the slave cylinder/line, control arms, tie rods/track arms, endlinks, PS reservoir, chin spoiler, and window regulator. Also, my oil pan hasn't leaked yet.
The 1st gen MINIs are mutts - a product of Rover engineering initially, then BMW took over. It's very much so a British engineered car with some German influence with an American engine (SOHC 1.6 is essentially a Chrysler engine: https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/f ... ngine.html ).
It's a very well sorted car for whoever buys it. Also, again... it's 18 years old. Stuff leaks, fails, wears out simply due to dryrot/age/fluid contact. Also, it's very possible that the owner of this car is just OCD and meticulous like myself. Some of these things that have been done are best replaced as a "while you're in there."
