The guy I sold my 1999 Mk4 to tells me it's still running strong at 20 years old this year.
I'm about to head over to the office parking lot to jack up my car and check things out. Straight poverty spec stuff here, hopefull no one from work sees me
I've spoken to a Corvette specialist here, he's a one man shop and seems awesome... unfortunately can't work on it until mid February, but if it isn't something simple, I'll likely do that.

So, as an update, I got the car up on jack stands in my office parking lot yesterday
Oil everywhere so I couldn't find the source at first. Upon checking the level, it was still right around the lower dot so I cranked the car and the flow started. It is definitely coming from the top rear (behind the intake manifold near the fire wall). I'm thinking maybe my Auto Zone oil pressure sensor went bad or something?
I had it towed home and will disassemble next weekend when I have time. Street side parked Johnny_P style.

Hmm, interesting that does sound like the culprit. A lot of people suggested some Buick ops, in my limited recollection. A lot of issues with the Chinese shitD Griff wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 2:30 pm So, as an update, I got the car up on jack stands in my office parking lot yesterday

I wonder if that much oil would come thru the oil sensor tho. Seems like such a high point for oil to make it thru and push its way out.
On another note, beat at the autox today by a whole magical tenth.
And my friend with the black mr2 blew his motor (we think, haven't opened it yet) on the way home. Fun day!

The OPS on these things blow. The first replacement I bought didn't even work on my car. I sourced an AC Delco replacement on Rock Auto IIRC and it's been fine.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 2:34 pmHmm, interesting that does sound like the culprit. I too would be surprised if it was letting out THAT much oil. Maybe it backed out somehow?

The amount of updates we get on this is only rivaled by visits to the GFs mechanic's wrench dropping skils.
THis job I started in October doesn't allow me to DFD ever. Come in, sit down, face to screen and make calls all day, on task 24-7. I just don't have time to forum, particularly since I've been moving. I get home at like 8 PM on average, unpack something or whatever, then go to bed.
Everything is basically moved in and all set now though, so I'll have a bit more time.
It is kind of amazing how much more free time I had for stuff I enjoyed when I was on the road . This job is pretty

The move was really the bitch, and work has been really stressful, I don't even check at lunch, just scarf my food and get back to work. Now I'm posting at my desk because fuck it.
Funny enough... speaking of being too busy... well, I am. I've been trying to think of ways to save some time and unfortunately selling the C5 would be pretty high on the last. Definitely haven't made a decision about it yet, but unfortunately, it's becoming a consideration.

If only you didn't go full on mods. I'd be totally down for your headers etc.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 5:38 pm Funny enough... speaking of being too busy... well, I am. That's Detroit. I don't have many modz.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 5:51 pmIf only you didn't go full on mods. Hopefully I'll just keep it. The damn apartment just makes it a headache.
You wanting me to have headers I need to get rid of won't make it a reality
I've driven a car with just headers and with just gearz. The gearz are definitely moar better.
I would definitely recommend them, but I doubt I'd get them personally given the amount of tracking I'm hoping to do.

Yeah with my truck issues headers have been removed from the mod list as I'd rather have gears.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:00 pmYou wanting me to have headers I need to get rid of won't make it a reality

Well that's why I sold mine. It made 0 sense in a 2 car solution and putting tons of miles on a plastic fantastic is shit, (as you've found out).D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 5:38 pm Funny enough... speaking of being too busy... well, I am. I did 1 full year of 15-17k miles on mine and the rest were 3-5k miles, as a secondary weekend vehicle. It got old since it needed work
Now I have the Kamry ... such a boring only car.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:05 pmWell that's why I sold mine. I really enjoy tracking but it's so damn expensive and time consuming... kind of at a crossroads where I need to decide about it.

Who doesn't enjoy tracking bruh. Life comes at you fast when you realize what a day at the track costs you. I enjoy $$$$$ restaurants as well. But I can't afford that shit and stick to $-$$$D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:10 pmNow I have the Kamry ... such a boring only car.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:05 pm

And yes the Kamry is boring in base (i4) spec you can go up a few notches until it is fun. Getting a 335i/340i and some wheels and tires and an exhaust would do wonders, and it would be pretty much as good as or better than a stock C5 performance wise.

I love my headers and the brubbing, but all combined it kinda hurts me for autocross. The car's getting more difficult to control even with new 315 rivals. I'm about to start looking into ways to restrict the motor after a guy this weekend mentioned it
I mean, straight line, yeah, braking yeah... couldn't really trackday bro it though I doubt. I haven't really looked into it though. I know very little about it, it's pretty much just basic transportation++ to me, and it is really great for that. I think with a square setup it would be much better, but I can't even find any good info on what the damn wheel sizes are.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 6:17 pmWho doesn't enjoy tracking bruh.
