C5's pop up in my FBM feed all the time. For some reason, people think they're worth gold. I just don't see it, but I'd list your car at $13k and see what bites come in. I had a hell of a time trying to sell my C5 a few years ago for more than $16k, but with the way things are now, who knows.
The biggest downside going private party is all the things idiots will nickel and dime you on, which your car probably has a lot of. Will be
to hear the stores
Yeah, I am dreading trying it, but
$8300 stings, particularly after they offered me $11.3K a few weeks ago
It looks like mine would be the only non dogged/stupid modded one for sale for sub $15K, maybe it will get some good interest based on that. That would be the benefit of asking $12-13K, it comes in lower than most for asking but I'm still OK with them negotiating me down $1-2K so they can get the warm and fuzzies.
Yea, I think setting a realistic price is the way to go. $15k+ for your car will never happen, but the norm to ask these days. $12-13k is very reasonable.
All I got when I was selling mine were trade offers for Harleys. I got at least 2 per day, and it got really old. I only ever got one serious buyer, and it was the guy who ended up with it. He didn't even try to negotiate down from my $16,500 asking price, he said he thought my price was too low.
I actually found that dude on CL, all the stupid worthless trade offers came from FBM, which is the absolute worst but the only way to get eyeballs now. I hope to never sell another car PP again.
