Come on in :mahtroy: and :wap:

the water is fine. :thisisfine:

OT was getting really cluttered.

I'd like to start by sharing a well done article. I also enjoy the tales of people that have lived in true socialist countries. Most cant wait for a time to leave.

https://fee.org/articles/an-open-letter ... g-atlanta/
And tacking on the word “democratic” doesn’t change things. Socialism has never been democratic. Democracies protect the minority against the abuse of the majority. A society, where the individual’s inalienable rights to life, liberty, property, and pursuit of happiness are not protected is not a democracy, but much closer to mob rule.

:wat:

Democracy is, by definition, the majority imposing its will upon the minority. It is mob rule.

Not yet, obviously... but if they don't even understand democracy I'm not optimistic about the rest of it.

Between Trump and Not Trump, the choice is clear. I'd vote for Ayn Rand over Trump.

big biz is just one side. We've enabled big biz by sending shills into the .gov ethos.

Remove all incumbent politicians. Remove corp tax loop holes and limit deductions. Get to a realistic, yet globally attractive, tax structure.

Remove the .gov from controlling and empowering business sectors.

what I dont see is a bunch of health care providers (ie the doctors themselves) clamoring to switch to a unified .gov single payer system.

We've now expanded medicare and basically anyone making less than $40k/yr is on the .gov dole. I'd love to find some middle ground. We obviously have epic shit pots of money literally burned each year by the .gov. We can obviously afford to re-prioritize where that money is spent. The current system is so fucked, Im glad i only have to deal with it once or twice per year. Everyone in the large middle class pays through the noise for very basic (annual) services.

Meanwhile the poors have chronic health issues by a large margin, use the wrong services(ie ER/emergency for non emergency ailments), and dont take any responsibility for their well-being.

Why is some dip shit that is 400lbs and cant walk or give a fuck my fucking problem? They have made themselves disabled. And that type of person is the face of the poors on Medicare.

I can appreciates this.

The career politicians getting paid off to do the deeds of big biz is bad news bears.
Yep, for sure. Biggest issue is The people making the rules are the ones benefiting from them, so there's zero incentive to change.

Lots of states are making it against the law to bring waders/etc across state lines without cleaning them first, to prevent transfer of invasive critters/plants. Maybe this is how the dems can finally get him.

Get rid of unlimited corporate donations to Superpacs

Term limits on Congress

Get rid of Gerrymandering

These would be a good start.
I don't have an opposition to lobbying, but enforce campaign contributions, gifts and other types of "almost bribes"
That, and if people paid more attention to what their representatives and senators voted on.
