Get rid of unlimited corporate donations to Superpacs

Term limits on Congress

Get rid of Gerrymandering

These would be a good start.
I don't have an opposition to lobbying, but enforce campaign contributions, gifts and other types of "almost bribes"
That, and if people paid more attention to what their representatives and senators voted on.

The problem with lobbying is it rarely has consumer's best interest at heart. It's about making sure the .gov is as friendly to business as possible, which means more sales, profits, and greed. None of which really benefit people.

Taking away the financial incentive levels the playing field against all "special interest"
Moving it away from corporations, and allowing groups of all sorts "ad space" of sorts to advertise their position.

I suppose...but it also removes the incentive for politicians to give a shit. Why would they listen to anyone without money? Just get rid of the practice altogether.

Your point about making people more aware of what their reps are voting on and how is a critical one, IMO. These people need to be kept in check by the people who are hiring them, and that's not happening right now.

If you get rid of it altogether that might push it underground with no regulation.
Keep them out in the open, I say.

True...but the same thing could happen if you try to enforce bribes.

Getting rid of unlimited money to superpacs will take a constitutional amendment at this point. Citizens United decision and the Koch brothers assured that.

Not that anyone cares, But the AP did a fact check on the DEM debate last night.

The moderates hopefully are gaining traction. The pandering is UNREAL....

A dozen Democrats seeking the presidency tussled Tuesday night in a debate packed with policy, flubbing some details in the process.

Several gave an iffy explanation of why they’re not swinging behind a bold proposal to make people turn over their assault-style weapons. Sloppiness also crept in during robust exchanges over foreign policy, health care, taxes and more.

How some of their claims from Westerville, Ohio, stack up with the facts:
