To go along with Johnny's epic amish drive, a lot of the Philly SCCA events are coming up. I'd like to finally get the R out there and see how it compares to my old Mk6. Anyone else interested? Coming up they have Temple-Ambler, the usual warminster park, philly mills, oxford valley mall, and wells fargo.

Or we can say :nope: and do more epic amish drives?

Wow, they've been hard at work at adding new venues. :notbad:

I'm always down to play cars if I'm free. I need a new helmet, doe.
Yeah I was shocked. Granted it's only once at philly mills, oxford valley, and temple but still. Maybe they're trials for more events in the future.

I don't remember what my helmet was. Snell 2010 I think?

The best site I know about is at Pocono but I don't know if they have any more events there this year, the big 2-day one is sold out already. It's NEPA SCCA.

I'm not familiar with the sites closer to the rest of you clowns, are any of them good?

Well Warminster park is the main one and it's on a smallish runway so the course is down and back. Wells fargo was fun because it's a wide open parking lot so they're more creative.

I've never done temple, philly mills, or the oxford valley mall before but I assume they're just like wells fargo.

2010 is still good - my 2005 is expired now.
Looks like your helmet is fine. 2005 or newer according to the updated rules.

EVENT FEES The fee to compete in a 2019 Philly SCCA
Solo event shall be $55.00 at Warminster Community
Park. Prices may vary at other sites depending on lot
rental fees incurred by the region.
Note: A discount of $5 will be applied to the event
fees for those competitors pre-registering online in
advance of the day of the event.
The Solo Event Fee does not include any additional fee
for a Weekend Membership. The Weekend Membership
fee for 2019 is $10.
$60 to drive in circles in a parking lot and spend all day there. Hm. I'll go to hang out and watch racing for a bit but I'm not competing because I'm not dedicating 1/2 of my weekend to standing in a parking lot.

They're short and lower speed. Warminster is probably the fastest course, it's an old airport runway, and usually quite a bit of fun. It's been a long time since I've run there but IIRC each run was under a minute. Yeah looks like that's still the case with faster cars under 50 seconds. You get 4 runs. 3 minutes 20 seconds total track time.

I had a blast last time I did indoor electric kart racing. Problem with that was, each kart was so different and alignments were all sorts of fucked up from people hitting shit.

So, as a group - let's agree to do something?

Spend $75 on karts
Spend $60 on autocross
Spend $155-165 on a TNIA event
How about we schedule a meeting to form a committee to investigate our options and report back to the stakeholders who can hire consultants to help us choose the best strategy for developing a successful plan which leverages our unique synergies in an impactful manner?

I’ve made friends with staff and the mechanics at the San Antonio one to the point where they give me the best karts each time.

Next autocross is July 13th and 14th and here is the remaining schedule. I'd like to try and hit one of them, either the 13th or 14th. The :gorf: may blow up if I do them both.

I'll definitely be able to do all of them up until the August 18th event. I don't know for sure about the last 3.

Any takers?

:dat: it does ruin the fun after a while and you only get to know the condition after you get in. But I would give K1 a shot once a visit the great country of Texas.

Hey fellers. As of now there are only 53 entries in the autocross for this Sunday at Franklin Mills. That's incredibly low but should mean more runs for everyone!
