Can't disagree, just find it interesting how Chinese production didn't really seem to impact sales of the Buick Envision and various Volvo products. They're nice vehicles sold at a good price, guess it's not a big deal to many.

Probably because trade between US/MX/CA is more beneficial to all 3 countries long term as opposed to trade with China?

They're manufacturing diesel/elec submarines, and aircraft carriers.
Mostly designs they bought from the Russians, but with a hefty supply of T-55's and T-72's out there, might not be needed.

To be honest, I think that most have no idea. I met one person who owned an Envision and just thought it was an American car.

My GTI built in puebla has held up pretty good as far as "superior" interior, especially when some people were the fact that it looks like a brand new car on the inside, considering it is almost a 100k mile car.

Yeah, the average person knows dick-all about the vehicle they are purchasing, just like the average salesman knows dick-all about the vehicle they are selling.
I remember when I was test driving a Taco, I asked the salesman what the rear gear ratio was and he replied with, "What's a rear gear ratio?" This led to me explaining how a differential works and never getting my question answered. I didn't like the truck enough to look it up after the fact.

That’s a fairly obscure fact that doesn't need to be known by a saleshole. Knowing a gear ratio won’t sell the vehicle. They are trained to financially ruin you, not educate you on vehicle featuresHuckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:10 amYeah, the average person knows dick-all about the vehicle they are purchasing, just like the average salesman knows dick-all about the vehicle they are selling.

I read it as the former. In reality it could be any of the rest of them.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:51 amMexican salsa?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 6:44 pm Somebody local has a Mk7 with a custom plate "MXSALSA" which I doubt many get.

The thing that gets me is to get a personalized plate, you need to take significant effort including going to the DMV and paying extra. All so you can repeat the badges that are already on the car?

It's not obscure at all, especially when it comes to trucks. It isn't like I asked how many gallons of coolant the cooling system holds. Gear ratios greatly affect acceleration, fuel economy, and towing capacities. It is pertinent information for a truck.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:50 amThat’s a fairly obscure fact that doesn't need to be known by a saleshole. Knowing a gear ratio won’t sell the vehicle.
