How was the weekend for everyone? :tits: and I decided to take a last minute trip to the coast as it was unexpectedly warm this weekend. It was beautiful Saturday, we hit the beach, I went for a 7.5 mile run in the beach town and then we chilled and had some brews. We grabbed some local seafood and ate it at the airBNB for dinner, which had dope waterway/marsh views.

Yesterday it rained all day, so we just chilled on the airBNB porch, drank a bunch of cofvefe, and drove home. All in all was quite nice.
This is great! We went wining, some epic curvy roads etc in the truk, so it is nearly fully broken in (less than 1 week in)
:nice:

Whereabouts were you wining? The fires up there are improving?

We have a nice cool week ahead. 73° until Thursday then we bump up slightly to 75-79° through the weekend. Got a buddy coming out from Phoenix on Thursday. Excited to lift with him, he’s one of my only friends who also enjoys bodybuilding.

Current forecast shows 19F for a low later this week, with freezing rain/snow. Nice and cool indeed. :eeyore:

:nice: I am still tossing around joining a gym now and doing a bit more lifting again. I have been lifting 3X a week at home but it's not the same at all.

Saturday seems like it was our last really warm day, high today in the upper 60s. :ohwell:

It gets really pretty up in far north CA. I mean, the Bay Area and wine country are pretty as well, but I enjoy the deserted nature of further north.

:wtf:

It's not getting below freezing in Northern MI other than tonight might hit 31. It'll be lowest in the 40's for the next 10 days. I'm winterizing the camper today just in case it does freeze tonight.

TIL weather in northern MI aka "the great white north" is nicer than upstate NY :mindblown:

I love the more "remote" areas of CA...really unique in the country and completely different from what most people assume of the state. There's many counties that don't even require smog checks. :doomed: :mindblown:

I spent all weekend moving shit. Rented a 6x12 u-haul trailer...which was virtually impossible to find because of all the people moving up here, and got a good load of stuff. Came back to :tits: who ripped the carpet out of our bedroom and painted a few other rooms. She was in over her head and a fight ensued and we worked it out. All chill now, and we have a real couch in the living room now.

Fun fact...furniture is sold out everywhere. We had to fight people at RH outlet to get the couch we did. This world is borked like :melon: foot bones.

It's weird. Things are relatively normal here? Moving trucks/trailers are available. Haven't stepped foot in a furniture store in ages, but I suspect it's mostly fine as well.

Uh, so how much was it at "the outlet" out of curiosity? Our interior person at the MX condo started off with a RH couch with leather. "This is the standard" she says. The standard was 13,000.00+ We told her we could not afford the standard, are having a company in El Lay build a replica for $6K. Furnishing an entire house in RH at retail would cost as much or more than than many homes on this forum. Their margins must be astronomical.

I'm legit glad to hear that it's normal somewhere.

I got a quote for a 6x12 u-haul trailer from Detroit to Traverse City and it was $450. If I picked it up in TC and returned in TC, it would be $60. So I picked it up in TC on Saturday morning, and I picked up the only trailer. Cool, this is a small u-haul distributor I thought. Returned the trailer this morning and there were easily 50+ trailers in the parking lot. Got there before they opened, and was unhooking the trailer on my own when a worker came up to assist. He said he came in early on Monday's because "Monday's are insane"...all the trailers there were returned over the weekend and he'd never seen so many and had no idea where they came from :mindblown:

We sold many furniture pieces with our house in Detroit...so we needed a couch. Went to a number of places that told us we might be able to get something my next March (due to backlogs), so we went to the Restoration Hardware outlet that was sold out of just about everything. They told us a truck was coming in the next day, so we came back as they were unloading the couch we bought and bought it on the spot. I picked it up with my dad on Saturday with the Uhaul trailer, and a dude offered me retail price for it (we paid $2,500 for a $6,000 couch), but I had to decline because I knew the wife would kill me.

It's a crazy time right now, at least in the mitten state.

RH margins are insane. We bought all our RH stuff from the outlet when it opened in MI. Our couch we just bought for $2,900 had a retail price over $6k. (down filled cushions, lux depth, 9' long)

The wife ordered a desk for her WFH duties back in the beginning of September. It finally showed up on Saturday.

I had no damn idea what "RH" was until that last post.

There is one around here... it is in this ridiculously :fancy: :waxer: outdoor mall thing and has a rooftop patio. The building looks :neat: as hell, but thanks for letting me know to make sure :tits: never enters the place.

We bought a couch made in NC for $1K at Big Lots that I actually really like a lot, but I can already see that it won't last all that long. I would assume $2-3k would be a sweet spot for something solid without breaking the bank? $13K is NUTS.

I paid $800ish for a leather couch with recliners on both ends from la-z-boy about 9 years ago. It's been moved 4 times and is still holding up just fine.

I grabbed a cheapish couch from Amazon brand Rivet when I moved into my 1BR place. $700 maybe? Still going strong two years later and it’s what Michelle and I use in the new house since hers was too big.
