I've done that, it's amazing.

One thing I lost in the flood I talk about is my 1966 Zenith turn table cabinet.
I can't tell you how many times after a long day I'd take a toke and put on "Us and Them"

I'm still a massive Pink Floyd fan.
:fuckyeah:

I had my dad's vintage HiFi setup that I've restored. Sansui 9090db, Thorens turn table, Infinity Q5 speakers. Getting lost in spinning vinyl is very enjoyable.

Agreed.

Beatles I really only care for Abbey Road.

Pink Floyd is Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here

The rest is meh to me. Never got into the Stones.

I have a vague recollection of the Dark Side/OZ thing. Remind me what happens again unless it is described below (I will catch up).. something about a dude hanging himself in the background at the end of the song? I love Pink Floyd and wish I could have caught them live, Rush too  . Sounds like a great weekend :doe: !

I worked 12 on Saturday and drove for 4 hrs but that was a monumental success walking an entire robotic equipment install through aside from my first visit which was to Project Manage the electrical piece. It is running well right now and I maneuver the operations remotely as they come across challenges, which at this point is only one occurrence where they stopped the machine to work on the existing equipment - trying to increase thru-put since my robot opens up new potential. the "high" of spearheading something fairly complicated, building up programs in old equipment and writing and developing an entire robot functionality in my robot in mere 12 hrs had me feeling energetic and alert for the drive home.

Sunday we swam in the pool, and had another swim today with the wifey, kids in school. Nicole was looking at weight loss detox drinks and I convinced her that we can do it on our own with a change to our diets and adding more weight training. We did a bunch of squats and lunges together in the back yard and both carried around reasonable weights to make it feel more like cardio/resistance training then weight lifting. Skip the detox :bs: drink and I made her a brotein shake and a salad with artichoke heart and some slices of brie cheese. Oil and balsamic lightly poured on for taste. So good!
My wife is always getting excited about those dumb detoxes and stuff but never sticks with anything. I am always trying to convince her that it is really a simple matter of calories in versus out, eating nutritious foods, and being active in whatever way suits you. Weight training is best to change overall physique and metabolism, but many forms of cardio can be more enjoyable and very beneficial. :ohwell:

I just hope she uses this $1K spin bike she ordered that's coming in Wednesday. At least I'll have it for crappy winter days :doe:

I now have dumbells, resistance bands, brake rotors, and tree for pull ups at home + bikes/running and I feel pretty fit and stuff, not sure if/when I'll ever go back to a traditional gym to be honest.
Chicks are always looking for an easy way out it seems. Wife gets mad at me as I drop weight "men always lose weight easier" as she dives into a pint of FroYo. Ummmmm?

The detox stuff kills me. Sure if you’ve eaten nothing but fast food for a decade straight, maybe your body needs a little help.. but even then, don’t buy some special drink, just have a few days of eating nothing but veggies and lean protein, then reintroduce other Whole Foods and just stay away from processed crap. You have built in detoxifiers in the form of your liver and kidneys.

The liquid diet for a few days isn't going to do anything but make you :rage: quit out of hunger and go get Taco Bell, ice cream, or whatever your muse happens to be.

I just need a power cage, a barbell and 350 lbs of weights and I could pretty much stay out of the gym. That would get your deadlifts, squats, pullups and OHP. Only thing missing really is bench press which you could also do on there if I bought a bench. TBH I have just subbed 150 pushups for "chest day" and it works well enough. Where I've really lost mass strengh is in the legs, both quad and hammy, without the deadlift and squat work. The rest is pretty OK. I will get zero shit from the wife setting up outside given the fact that I would be doing so to avoid the VID.
I'd love a rack and some barbells, I do miss that stuff a bit, but it's :waxer: and not going to fit in an 1100 sq. ft. house.

I'm lazy and don't like major workouts outside of basic walking/hiking/light biking

So I just don't eat as much. Simple. Wife goes full :triggered: YOU NEED TO EAT MORE BLAH BLAH

I'm good, I've got my portions under excellent control IMO.

Same thing happens with Michelle and I. Even when she eats healthy food, she loooves condiments, so everything gets covered in some sort of sugar or fat based :sawce: adding hundreds of useless calories to every meal.

My dad and I talked about the Beatles at length this weekend after a J

There were really 2 Beatles...Pre LSD and Post LSD as marked by Sgt Peppers. Sgt Peppers was pretty revolutionary in sound for 1967, and took them in a more modern and interesting sound direction. Pretty significant and revolutionary for the time, but none of the songs are really :mindblown: IMO. But what is :mindblown: is the arrangement of songs post LSD. Sgt Peppers, but more so the White Album and especially Abbey Road take you through an entire journey of feelings and emotions. No one song is particularly great, but the collection of them as they're arranged on each album are fantastic. My favorite of them is the transition between "I want you (She's So Heavy)" and "Here comes the sun" on Abbey Road. "I want you" is this long dark heavy bluesy song that for 7 minutes builds and builds and builds until there's it's just noise and chaos when it abruptly ends and the light delicate acoustic guitar plucking at the beginning of "Here Comes the sun" starts immediately after as if something so light and delicate managed to conquer chaos.

That level of arrangement wasn't rivaled until Pink Floyed.

Also, smoking helps A LOT with getting into this music.

Was just talking to some buddied how I need a weekend just off by myself doing whatever I want after having spent the last two weekends on little trips with michelle. Weed and some music alone in a hotel room would be epic.

DUDE

What do you do when you're high?!?! My favorite thing to do when high is zone out to music. Any music, but particularly more journey oriented stuff like live concerts or Pink Floyd, or later Beatles.

It's actually the best when in the woods camping. Especially on a clear night with a lot of stars.... :mindblown:

I'm setting up our house in the woods to be the most epic experience for high music consumption.

I love when people at the gym or at work tell me they wish they had my genetics. I always respond nicely, but in my head I’m cracking up as I think about having been in the gym 5-6 days a week for the last 12 years, measuring out to the gram almost everything I’ve eaten for most of that time with the exception of my planned and purposeful cheat meals, and then even if you want to count steroids as cheating, it’s still something I do that most people just aren’t willing to do. I remember when I started people telling me I didn’t have the genetics to go anywhere with it or to get big, and now I hear the opposite :yeahok: Hard fucking work and sacrifice for years and years and years. Genetics can suck a dick.
