Absolutely love the wall art, nice pics man! I'm looking at these as our whole province moves to complete lock down as of Dec 24th. I'm stoked for summer and feel that we'll be in a good place in time for better weather. January can eat dick anyways, it's a write off even on a good year.D Griff wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 6:52 am Here’s a few Austin pics, seems like Tapatalk is finally letting me upload. It’s a mix. When we can we’re doing a large meal in the mid afternoon at an outdoor restaurant somewhere. It’s less crowded then and warmer, plus we save money by just snacking in the AM (fruit, protein bars, etc) and snacking or sharing takeout for dinner.
We also have peanut butter and tuna sandwiches for lunches when we’re hiking and stuff. When we get up to UT and CO it’ll be too cold to eat outside at any time, so basically take out and sandwiches only...
The whole “trying local eateries and bars/breweries” is mostly out sadly, but at least we can still get good food like BBQ in TX sometimes.
Nice man! That is quite aSAWCE wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 8:45 pm Yeah, of Griff’s trip.
I think I’m finally Gonna make a Mexico trip next year. Hopefully things are normal-ish again by my birthday in July. Tentative plan is to book an all-inclusive adult-only resort for 3-4 nights out in Cancun. Found a few nice looking ones yesterday when Michelle and I were looking that weren’t too expensive. Think we’ll budget $1000 each for airfare, resort, and extra cirriculars like spa/massage stuff if that isn’t included at whichever one we decide on.
Mexico would be 5/7, fingers crossed you get to go. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the world/USA over the next few months.

I think indoor dining is a 25-50% capacity, everything else is open with mask and social distancing in place.

did that last night with Grand tour... It was a decent episode. Kind of intense to seem them do that sort of off roading.

SD judge tried to fight the closure order for restaurants and a few other things over the weekend before getting shut down. We took advantage of being freshly recovered from Covid and found a sushi spot that was doing “dine-in” (all patrons were eating outside on the sidewalk separated by little partition things). Glad we found that spot. A little pricey, but the flavors and freshness was well worth it. The rolls were generous size too. At our normal spot, I’ll eat 5 rolls myself. This place we split 3 rolls and 5 pieces of salmon sashimi, plus I ordered their spicy miso soup, and we were both very full. All of that plus two ciders for Michelle was $80-90 IIRC
We stayed on the River Walk... it was a bit much at night from what we saw, we bailed due to major crowds in the evening, but it was nice in the AM.
One thing that was surprising though, mask utilization in TX was about 95%, definitely better than what I expected and far better than Charlotte. I figured it would be NFG as everything is open.
Yesterday we drove from Alpine, TX to Tucson. Along the way, we stopped for a hike at White Sands National Park. This place was super cool and unique, huge dunes in the desert of New Mexico in a valley surrounded by rugged mountains. My photos don’t do it justice.

There was a lot of “resistance” at first. But, it became business mandated primarily, and then marketed as a courtesy/hospitality thing which is why I think it’s so well adopted, barring some boonies places out in the country that make it “optional”D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 12:41 amWe stayed on the River Walk... it was a bit much at night from what we saw, we bailed due to major crowds in the evening, but it was nice in the AM.
