Not having to commute is nice. I'd like to get more stuff done outside, but it is constantly raining here.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:01 amDesertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 6:41 pm
I don't really feel cooped up on my back patio at 69 degrees with a cold beer and a big ass shot of tequila. Which I'm headed to right about now. I can work from work when I'm the only one here.
Other than the bouts of being scared/depressed in the state of things, my general quality of life has been pretty great. Better work/life balance, more time outside, getting more around the house done, staying active, etc.
I'm thankful we were able to move out of our apartment before this happened, THAT would've been cooped up.

As someone that works for a giant corp, I'm torn.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 6:58 am I mean, I think cruises are fun... but yeah, bail out is
I feel the same way about the airlines. Fuck 'em. The airports, planes, etc. will all be here still. If they collapse, let someone else give it a whirl. I'm a bit of a hypocrite in saying this as I've flown probably 500K miles in the past 10 years at least, but everyone should probably be flying less, it's destroying the planet (ships too obviously). In some ways this could be a good reset for us. Everyone should be driving less, flying less, using less.
Someone/thing needs to be punished for bad business practices, but so many working level people have no input in those and are ultimately the ones that get super screwed. Exec leadership can drift off with a golden parachute when a company goes under, but the working level people that depend on these jobs get hosed.

I'm getting house and yard projects done. Cooking everynight and eating real good. I also like hanging with my wife. It's been pretty nice when I'm able to forget the doom and gloom. But I also have NV and body armor sitting next to my bed

Eh, it could be worse. Probably go for a drive with the fam after work to get outside for a bit.
Weather was kinda shit for a few days which didn’t help anything.
Spending extra time with the girls because I’m WFH is nice doe. I’ll take random breaks and lunch with them.

Today is the first day I've gone out in a while, and I went straight to what I needed at the store, straight to checkout, didn't talk to anyone, and stayed back from the cashier. But all throughout the store there were employees helping people find things and discuss projects and whatnot...uhhhh?[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 1:05 pm
I hate to be a fear monger about this, but some people need a good fucking dose of reality. It's going to take people dying en masse because the hospitals are overwhelmed to get anyone to take this seriously.
Everyone's treating this like a big fucking vacation.
Wife keeps finding excuses to go out. She's catching up on her 6 months worth of Bon Appetite back issues and finding recipies she needs to make. Our fridge is STOCKED with shit and she's still going out to buy more. Arguments are going to get real.
