Sucks, but in a way better to find out this way than a heart attack. What stage is the CHF?

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

I'm not certain of the stage of CHF, my wife might remember what was said more than I do, I have had a lot of things running through my mind 24/7 since coming in.

My cardiologist seems to not be too worried about it and says that if I follow his instruction everything can be pretty much reverted with time and effort. They have medicated me and stabilized my BP and my blood sugar, but my heart rate is still high and I am still in afib. He thinks he will release me when my rate is under control (currently easily spikes up to 140 bpm), and I may need to get Cardiac ablation procedure using catheters to correct the afib....... yea... ;)
he's more machine now, than man.

Update for status of the last few hours..

My HR dropped significantly after coming off the IV and going 100% oral meds. I am currently sitting at a resting rate of 68-70 bpm for the last 4 hours and my heart rhythm has corrected.

Let's hope this holds and the medication recipe is correct.

nice man. Good to hear.

About 8 months ago my mom (72 and in mediocre/poor shape) had a bulging and pumping artery in her neck. It was about the size of a golf ball. Didnt want to go to ER and insisted on just going to the regular dr. She waited like 3 days with this massive bulge. Her BP was like 230/160 or close. BPM was 130-140... The Dr calmly freaked out and said she could stroke at any second and I got her to the ER. They threw the gambit of meds. It took about 4 hours for things to finally calm down after a good bit of IV drugs + Valium. Shit was still really high. It hovered around 160-180 for the next to weeks as they figured a combo of meds that slowly brought it into normal range. Im sure some damage was done from the prolonged extremely high BP.

Silver lining is she was healthy enough to survive the initial wave. (so are you). Any less condition people would have dropped dead.

It was a combo of general stress, age, poor diet and exerciser. She still wont retire but is doing exercise with a trainer and trying to eat better.
