It was well received, I think. Sad to see me go, I have an outstanding reputation here, if I ever want to come back just call, etc.

Doesn't look like I'll get any "free" vacation doe, since exit interview is scheduled for Aug 1st. :flaccid:
That's good. It's always best to leave on good terms whenever possible. And who knows, you may actually need them some day (hoping not doe).

What's your start date?
Aug 5th.

Definitely don't want to burn any bridges, and leave on good terms. Never know when you might need a contact to reach out to.

Not bad!
I think it's about as good as could be expected! Lots of people will miss me, I haven't told many people yet. Glad I have a solid reputation here and am well liked.

Might grab tickets to go see The Empire Strikes Back with the score being performed by an orchestra on one of the bays out here. Only pricey-ish tickets are left; but could be a cool experience. $63/ticket isn’t too terrible for that I guess...

Sounds :neat: to me.

Where is "out here" ? Are you still in SD? Keep seeing comments that make it seem like you might have moved.

Still in San Diego. Want to come down for the weekend? Michelle has never seen a Star Wars film and won’t appreciate it.

Visited Seattle last weekend and planning on moving eventually, but it’s a good 2 years out at this point realistically. Gonna establish myself with the company here and get my PMP then try to transfer to our WA location.

Ah... okay.

I'm tied up for the forseeable future going to Arizona on weekends to deal with health problems with the wife's parents. :(

Thanks man. Getting old sucks.

On the bright side, I'm going to have a lot of Friday nights in the casinos. If my luck continues, that would be great.

That’s a bummer. Sorry man. I’m not looking forward to that when my parents get older or if mom gets cancer again.

Found a $50k error (would have been our loss) in a contract mod my boss signed and asked me to send to the .gov for their signature. Can I get a cut of that as a bonus? Thanks.

It's hard for sure. Both of her parents are deteriorating quickly at this point. He's been on dialysis for a few years and decided to stop going all together. He's gone from bad to terrible in the last 5 weeks since stopping treatment and she's not doing well either with two types of cancer having been detected in the last year.

They are in their mid-80's and until the last couple months you would have thought they were in their early 70's. Very active and extremely sharp. Makes me really  to see this happen so fast.

Yea I don't think you can last too long if you stop your dialysis. He must feel that it's his time. But in a way it's nice that he can make it his choice, if you know what I mean. So you can take some comfort in that.

Yeah, he's done with it all and I cannot blame him one bit. I respect him for sticking it out so long only so he could take care of his wife.

We had a great conversation last weekend and I hope to have at least one more with him before he goes.

Today was our annual company picnic. Since it was forecast to be near 100F with a heat index of 116F the decision was made to have it catered instead of having some of the guys work over a hot grill making skirt steaks all afternoon. We had burgers, hot dogs, BBQ'd pulled pork, baked beans, a few other sides, fruit and cookies. Was 5/7.

Then, this evening my church was having their annual Greek food fest so we went there and I pigged out again. Feeling so :fatty: right now.

Today I'm gonna start eating a bit less. The massive increase in appetite I realized when I got home from the hospital I believe really helped with my healing. I ate a LOT of lean brotein like chicken, fish, pork, nuts, beans, Greek and Icelandic yogurt, etc, and I didn't gain any weight because (I believe) my body was using all these calories for healing my incision, sternum, etc. However, this past week I started gaining wait, like a pound or 2/day, so I'm going back to pre-surgery eating quantities to get back to the weight I feel best at. I figure the healing process is winding down so my eating can, too. :iono:

Thanks guys! I was a bit worried about being out in that humidity but it was manageable with the fans that we brought from the warehouse to the picnic site (the pavilion had outlets). Feeling a little better every day. And, I start driving on Monday! :fuckyeah:

That’s absolutely what was happening and that’s awesome that you gravitated towards those food and have your body what it needed to heal itself. Good stuff man. Glad you’re on the up and up.
