Pretty simple, right?
The dude fought every point bossbro brought up during his firing. Understandable I guess but he was clueless to the end about why over-reliance on corporate structure, theory with none-as-of-yet practical applications after 6 months, and being frustratingly pedantic was his downfall. What used to get me is when he'd use acronyms that NO ONE here were familiar with and I'd repeatedly ask him to use the actual words until we were all up to speed and he refused. I think he liked the power trip aspects of knowing something no one else did. He did other douchey power trip moves, like schedule meetings then be 5-10 minutes late for them, making you wait for him. Fuck that.
that sounds fucking terrible. Corporate theory is some serial BS plaguing companies. Listen to the people that do the work. If they are worth while, they should be able to manage themselves just fine.
We are being hit hard with whimsical corp buzzwords and generic hollow "targets".
Exactly! Fuck that shit. As bossbro told him yesterday, we've had great success over the last 51 years with our non-corporate culture here. We are not the hayseeds he was trying to paint us as.
When bossbro first told me I'd be joining this guy's team to help them with purchasing by contributing my inventory control perspective to purchasing decisions - which I have been doing for the 2 years I've been in this job - I said fine as long as I still report to you. Bossbro made it clear that would continue to be the case. So it was fun when newdude was going over his performance review parameters and I interrupted him to let him know I didn't report to him. His reaction was priceless:
He wasn't happy about that.

I'd be glad that douche is gone.
Word is that our vendors, as they're being called to give them the news, are without exception very glad to hear they won't have to deal with him any more.

When a couple thousand people might not get paid, you put in the time to get it fixed.
But how did it get to that point in the first place ?
New system, this client has stressed tested the fuck out of it now. They send their files in late in the day, so it took a little leg work on our end, and our processor, to get it taken care of.
Those days are super rare, I'm usually outta here between 5 and 5:30 most days.

This guy sounds like a yuge cock
That is the picture that is being painted, yes.

Makes sense.
5-5:30 is much more reasonable.

The silver lining is that in a few years we might be able to go somewhere that we actually enjoy. It's like going to grad school. It's not supposed to be fun.
Does her employer look at hardship postings like that?
We're thinking about jumping companies. She now has a manager title, so will soon finally have manager experience (6 years after finishing the MBA) in addition to basic engineer and analyst roles.

Weather is rough up there this time of year. It should be really nice in spring/summer/fall though.
Hows the local avo toast scene? And I agree with Breh, get a $20 burger, it'll make it all better.
Meh. KY had all the same shit but better quality and for less money. There are no redeeming qualities to this place, just gotta keep my head down and do my time.
The handful of decent places here cater almost exclusively to corporate card users so the prices are all insane. You can eat better for less in Manhattan.
Wow, that IS depressing. Vegas has a fair number of place like that.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.
Here's that dish we made last night. Super tasty. Only thing I would do different in the future is use more veggies (we used less than the recipe called for) and I'd probably use a chicken or turkey sausage so it's not as greasy/fatty.
Fun fact, the woman who's blog this is (I have her book too) is the wife of a guy from the Deadzone. That's how I initially found her. I've loved every dish of hers that I've made.
Found a decent looking treadmill for $120. Everything on CL under $100 looked like garbage. Gonna go check it out this weekend. Probably offer the dude $100 if it is decent in person.
