Thanks for the confirmation and good wishes.SAWCE wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 2:24 pmThat’s absolutely what was happening and that’s awesome that you gravitated towards those food and have your body what it needed to heal itself. Good stuff man. Glad you’re on the up and up.wap wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 2:18 pm
Today I'm gonna start eating a bit less. The massive increase in appetite I realized when I got home from the hospital I believe really helped with my healing. I ate a LOT of lean brotein like chicken, fish, pork, nuts, beans, Greek and Icelandic yogurt, etc, and I didn't gain any weight because (I believe) my body was using all these calories for healing my incision, sternum, etc. However, this past week I started gaining wait, like a pound or 2/day, so I'm going back to pre-surgery eating quantities to get back to the weight I feel best at. I figure the healing process is winding down so my eating can, too.

My recovery is not going as fast as I would like. But I am happy to be alive and cancer free. I have therapy next week and I am hoping for a regimen that will improve things. My biggest concern right now is right arm/shoulder weakness/pain that I am hoping is a result of swelling rather than surgical damage.

I start cardiac rehab a week from Monday. I'm hoping to get some arm and upper body strength back, too. I haven't been able to use my arms/shoulders/upper body much since the surgery so I'm sure I've lost some of the meager strength I had before. Good luck with your rehab, mang.
