Going to a holiday party that someone I used to work with is throwing this evening. It's basically an annual banker get-together. Should be at least some free booze. Might have to hand out some business cards and test the waters a bit.
i got sort of invited over a free lunch by former coworker to former employer's christmas party. They think they can get me in. I should totally crash it.

I probably won't hear about bonuses until next week, maybe?
I'm curious if they will actually pay me anything for a project I run, like they said they would.
Our bone-uses are announced in March, pay out in April usually. Likely going to be really small this year.
I did make serious f'in bank on a bonus one year though. 20%.

You guys and gals have a good Turkey Day? Mine was pretty epic out in CO. Got dumped on and skied powder in November. Had a “top 5” day of the season already and can’t be more thankful!

You work at a bank doe?
I do work at a bank. "Bankers Hours" are long dead.
Our bank in Trumpistan is hardly ever open. They've cut back the hours twice since we moved here. Last I checked it was down to 9-3 or 9-4 M-F, no more Saturdays.

You're not.
Direct deposit so you don't need to be present at the bank to give them your money. You just can't take large sums of money out easily. Which is the idea.

Why do you need to go to a physical bank location?

Who has that here? People work part time for $9.25 an hour and spend their whole paycheck on bourbon and a loan.

Large cash transactions are also suspicious to a bank. Do that stuff electronically.

yeah when I make a large purchase and need cash they always make me sign (over $1k iirc) and double check my id. Which all in all isnt a bad thing.
