Michelle's friend that works at the company I have a few applications with responded to me. Said she sent my resume along to hiring managers, that it looked like I was probably a little over qualified for one of the positions, and asked if there were any others I'd looked at applying for.

Just responded with four more job requisition numbers. Two procurement specialist positions, and two senior buyer positions. One of the senior positions is a rotational position, which I'd love in order to learn a few different roles/sectos. I expressed that in my email too. Told her I'd be okay with taking a pay cut for something that I'm a little over qualified for to get my foot in the door with the company.

Hope this actually turns into something.

Thats the trap.
:wrong: that's free experience on the resume to show you can work a level up when you apply for the next job
this is acceptable for a time, but not long term.

:sawce: should do it simply for the fact that he doesn’t plan on being at this company long term anyways.

It’s always busy, but today I was surprised with having a trainee shadowing me.

Are you showing them the ways of DFD as well?
Negatory. They aren’t ready for that.

:dat: they think this is a long term solution. CEO's comment was that my lead has now been working 12 hour days, and he can't be the only one doing that.... Yeah, so replace the guy who left, or promote lead to manager and hire someone else to fill a lower level spot on my team. Don't just expect everyone to work 12 hour days and come in on weekends from here on out.

We need new staff, can’t overwhelm and scare away before they’re even out of training.

You sure this isn't about not cooking rice under your desk? Don't want to burn the building down and all.

Question about the quote in your signature...

Can you teach me how to hard work myself into winning the lottery? I've been tryin real hard and can't seem to accomplish it.

I would actually love that. Several people here now turn to me for meal plans and workout advice. If I could somehow make that an actual role here instead of just helping people for free, that'd be sick.

I did that for something like 8 months. I was promised a raise multiple times. When it finally came it was :fuckyeah: but yeah that shit gets old super fast. There were 3 of us that got moved up like that "temporarily" and without pay adjustment.

I guess I didn't learn a damn thing though, as I'm now managing 3x as many people for 3% raises.

I love the thought behind the quote doe.

I'm definitely not going to teach my son about luck.

But it exist and some people benefit from it in their professional lives.

But luck only pays off if youve put yourself in the position for it to.

Am I lucky for not getting hit?
