Do you have any temporary badges in the meantime? There should be a process by security because it becomes a life safety issue in an emergency (usually badges are a good way to keep a count on who/how many people are in the building on and given time. I forgot it in the Corvette once when driving the truck to work, and it was basically impossible to get into anywhere. I ended up going home to get my badge at lunch.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:20 am
All the fucking time. I have my team make it really fucking inconvenient to get a new badge. People have started losing them way way less.

No temp badges here, especially in high security buildings. Need your boss or a resident of the building to escort you if you forget your badge. Pretty much, don't forget it.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:31 amWe do issue temp badges fairly painlessly. Lost badges are a different story.

No temp badges. Need to sign and and have an escort. That's how they keep track of you.razr390 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:35 amDo you have any temporary badges in the meantime? We have turn styles everywhere. Piggy backing is impossible.

Can't get in or out without the escort. And someone won't escort someone they don't know. When you check-in, they verify that you're an active employee, then you wait for your escort.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:39 amOh wow that seems actually like a bigger security risk to me but what do I know :dunno:
Major pain, but seems pretty secure?

We have temporary badges and we can access notes on each badge through out access control system and we can put who it was issued to. We also have a physical log for them. Easier to keep track of who has it and where they’re going.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:39 amNo temp badges. Need to sign and and have an escort. So you fly on prop planes to Indiana and New Mexico instead of upstairs on 747's to India and Mexico, smoke cigarillos instead of cigars, drive a 4 cylinder Malibu, have two person threesomes and are a connoisseur of whiskey and not whisky.
And live in apartmentopia.

Ah. So you work for a contracting company that operates as a “shell” company for a government agency. Nice.

We have a ways to go to get to that level but we are on the right track. A lot of people here view access control as an inconvenience rather than a help.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 10:50 amAh makes sense. Not too different than us. Once it's validated that you're an active employee you get a temp badge that gets you limited access only to your workspace and two person access if you need to go somewhere else (door or turnstile will release on your badge only after someone in your CoC swipes).

So that’s why I didn’t get my latest “Tractors Monthly” issue.
