I'll enjoy a small cup at work every once in a while but it's not a dependence thing for me at all. Just on the worst mornings.

It's true though. Has nothing to do with DFD.
Today's fun news at work? Last year the company decided they were no longer going to pay the 7% pension and reduce benefits coverage to 70% contribution from the prior 80%. Union fought it, they won. Payout was supposed to happen in September. Union roasted the new CEO about that during town hall meetings 2 days ago. They'll now be paid Monday. Salary people? Who knows, apparently it's go fuck yourselves.
Gonna be fun telling my workforce that bit of information. That the union guys with no college education get 7% pension retroactive and moving forward, plus retroactive benefits payout but they don't.

Just more bullshit, dude. Company's gotta save a dollar. Don't like it? You can They don't care about their employees, been this way for years. Prior years the union has received their contractually obligated 3% raise and absolutely dick for salary people. Those were the "you're lucky to have a job" recession years. Now? IDK what's behind this.dubshow wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:41 amJohnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:36 am

Honestly my frustration level with this company is increasing to the point that I want out. Been looking but not finding much in the Philly region.

Can't wait for the layoffs that will be inevitable. My stupid boss hired 3 people recently into my group. And wants to hire 2 more that interned with us. Why? Who knows, I have no openings. He wanted to prepare for possible personnel movement..... that is not happening..... and there's no indication it will? So my department is heavy for our size refinery. 330MBbl/day refinery with 19 mechanical engineers
So he's forcing these people on me right? If it comes to firing, it will be me firing them. I bet I'll have to lay off 5 of them.
Just speculation. Damn I'm salty today.

Old head style company bruh. Dad is always right even when he isn't. Don't like it? Either shut up and deal with it or leave. There is no 2-way discussion, no open channels of communication with higher leadership, it's not an employees-first company. We boil oil, and we can do it without you if we need to.Melon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:44 amThat's legitimately shitty. Sorry man.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:36 am

Ya'll do refining? I thought it was sewage treatment, or municipal water or something.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:49 am Can't wait for the layoffs that will be inevitable. My life is pretty hard too. My son won't turn off his fucking bouncey castle when he gets out. The little squirrel fan just sits there for hours running keeping that thing inflated.
I get home and it's just there sitting

Reminds me of the tags on some skateboard brand back in the early 2000s.. don't remember if it was Enjoi or Black Label... one of them had "Dirty Laundry Keeps Women Busy" on their t-shirt tags lol.
