Sweet baby Jesus.. I know two weeks is a long time, but if I come in after a day off and have more than 20 unread emails I get stressed out.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:44 pm Powered on my work notebook for the first time in 13 days. I usually come back to about 100/day when I'm gone.

I'm around 50-100/day, too. Sometimes less.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:56 pmWowCorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:44 pm Powered on my work notebook for the first time in 13 days. I had cleared all my emails so 0 were unread. This morning: 39,812 unread messages.

Funny thing is, i have gone tad earlier when i used to commute almost 15-20 miles (depending on which route to take) to shave off 20 mins. That somehow worked, and helped me get my shit done faster, sometimes leave earlier tootroyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:21 pmDunno, it's hard to relate to problems like that. We simply cannot afford to live anywhere that we'd want to live - and that will likely never change due to real estate costs in nice areas outpacing wages by orders of magnitude. Why not be like and drive into the office early to avoid traffic?Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:09 pm
We have epic equity, but I feel trapped because I have to chose between having nothing to do that I like when I get home vs. horribad commute. Any of the areas around here that have what I want mean an easy hour+ sitting in solid traffic. Where I'm at, even with the worst traffic I can find a route that'll get me home in under 30 min. I have to decided what I hate more: sitting in traffic or having nothing to do that I like after work.
It's REALLY tough. So much so that I debate finding a new job that will move me away from the city. FCA is actually in the perfect location for what I want out of a place to live.

In DC (metro area to be exact) you do need a car, uber is close second, the yellow taxi here sucks, just plain sucks right now metro doesn’t even work. Parking in DC (atleast weekends) are nowhere near a burden compared to NY, but then again I grew up in a metropolitan city. Busses take longer than cars. For me, i STILL have to drive 4 miles in 20 min traffic for rush hour just to get to the farthest station it can take to my area. But I also hear ubers make $6k a month here, so go figure.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:25 pmNYC is fucking awful. I take the train there. Boston was pretty shit tastic too. And DC has bad traffic and immigrants galore that have no clue how English directions work. So it blows there as well. At least those places have decent public transit subways and whatnot so you can still get around, but if you need a car?troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:23 pm
I can't handle sitting in traffic regardless of my vehicle, it absolutely ruins my day every time. It's why NYC is the worst place in the country IMO.
Honestly Seattle had pretty fucking epic traffic issues too. I loved it there but would really question long term happiness due to the amount of completely stopped traffic.

When I was commuting in MI, there was a time where leaving 10 minutes later turned a 20 minute drive into a 45-60 minute drive. I could either leave at 7 and be there at 7:20, or leave at 7:10 and be there at 7:55-8:10.
If you can't leave early no matter what happens then there's no point in showing up early, unless you can perhaps take a long ass lunch to go do fun stuff in the middle of the day? That could be neat actually, work from 6-10AM, go ride bikes or whatever for a few hours, then work again from 2-6PM.

I've been at a few places that were more flexible like that. I don't know if 4 hour lunches would have flown, but 2 hours wasn't uncommon and we'd just work late to make up for it.troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 3:06 pmMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 2:49 pm

Remember it’s dfd tradition to get numbers and take them to the closest dealership to you

I believe Mercedes CPO warranty is something like up to 80k miles?

I'm a master negotiator.
However, they next deal I do I may need something money can't buy.
NJ ain't that far away.
I saw 1 year unlimited mileage. Then I've seen others too so I don't know if it's the diller or manufacturer that's offering it.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 4:53 pmI believe Mercedes CPO warranty is something like up to 80k miles?
