You should probably show up late to the Saturday meeting, seeing as that was one of the first things they gave you shit about.

Wait 'til they find out you're taking forever off to deal with selling Mazda's at Hamilton.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 12:40 pmThey really had to think about allowing me to take Wednesday off to deal with the snow at my 90+ year old grandparents’ property

I'm open to consulting work, as I think that would be a good fit keeping things different so I don't get bored. And I have experience with Cisco and Extreme (Enterasys) gear but I'm currently studying for my CCNA. Have part 1 scheduled for Monday.nuggstein wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 12:10 pmAre you interested in a more permanent position, or would you rather be an engineer/consultant for a firm and get sent to clients? If you have no interest working on servers, what is the networking role you are looking for? Cisco stuff?dtraill27 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 10:25 am I have 7 years of exp. I have a 2 page resume with bullets and have a general template for my cover letters where I tailor the last paragraph to the roll specifically. I'm split on the cover letters, in general I think they are helpful but there are some positions I've applied for that I know it wont get read. On the other hand I know my cover letter is what got me an interview with the railroad I applied for because otherwise they would have seen a resume of a desk jockey IT guy and wonder how he would work outside 24/7.
I have 2 interviews in progress, waiting on a second from a pharmaceutical company and a first interview on the 16 with an electric company but other than that prospects are drying up currently. My issue is I am looking for a more specific role in IT (networking) and most places want someone who works on networks and servers like my current role. I just have 0 interest in server work. I've been looking since November and just getting frustrated since I want to nope out of my job badly. I also don't want to relocate yet so that limits prospects as well not being in a major market.

Legit point is legit. You also would have been offered the job with a tie and there are circumstances where someone WON'T get the offer without one. No such thing as over dressed.

I enjoy wearing a suit the few instances I get a year. I like being presentable and looking my best.
This is also probably why I dress differently than most of my peers. 85% of my shirts are polos or plain tees. I do not wear many graphic tees anymore.
4 years ago I primarily wore TAPOUT shirts or similar.

I only go plain tees or casual button ups. Similarly a few years ago I got out of brands/logos on clothing and pretty much wont buy anything that has themBarnes93cb wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 12:51 am I enjoy wearing a suit the few instances I get a year. I like being presentable and looking my best.

Looking good is important and people absolutely notice. I get [user not found]'s thing, sometimes a suit isn't necessary, but it never hurts IMO. Also, I'm sure he still looked nice and wasn't rolling in like a slob.Barnes93cb wrote:I enjoy wearing a suit the few instances I get a year. I like being presentable and looking my best.

I love always trying to look good unless I'm at the gym or something.

If I could manage to get unfat, I'd start dressing better now that I work downtown with big wigs.
Nice clothes just do not look good on fat guys.

It's always fun to think about telling people what you think but probably not a wise move in this scenario.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 8:42 pmfledonfoot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 7:58 pm
