If you want to move to Baltimore or Philly I could probably get you a job.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 8:54 am I just applied for another position dong the 'send your resume to a budday' thing. This one will probably have legs and at least result in an interview

The position had all 3 locations listed. They just acquired a former Mitsubishi factory in Illinois. Looks like a hell of a starter plant with great rail infrastructure and huge expansion possibilities. We will see what happens. Would be cool to interview with them at least, I believe in what they're doing.

Yea, they have a big challenge getting the plant in Normal up and running. It's a massive facility.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:04 pmThe position had all 3 locations listed. I really hope Rivian is successful. I too really believe in what they're doing.

Just got a call from a recruiter from another hospital system in the Portland area, she thinks I'm a great candidate and she loves that I have ER experience I needed that today. I should hear more soon!

They appear to be way more responsible than Tesla, and much more cautious. They partnered with Ford and Amazon. So, supply Amazon with a fleet, and supply Ford with a battery/motor/chassis to plop an F150 body on top of? they have a broader business model right off the bat.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:08 pmYea, they have a big challenge getting the plant in Normal up and running. Every interview I read with the CEO is epic. The dude really gets it, and it seems like he's built the right company to make it happen. He's realistic with product and production expectations...I think the biggest challenge will be charging infrastructure. Tesla built their own, Rivian is hoping things just develop in time. on that, but I think they're positioned really well.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:39 pmThey appear to be way more responsible than Tesla, and much more cautious. I wish I did something they valued. Alas, they DGAF about product planning or marketing professionals.

Nissan's in Nashville...though I think most of their engineering is in Detroit. It would be worth looking intoBig Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 4:02 pm
I'd love to go 'work the dream' and move to automotive, but I couldn't live in Detroit.
I need to look at a few jobs in Chatty-n00ga tonight
