Oh, I am still all about how the CEO is handling it, he is doing a great job. But after thinking about it a lot, I think a voluntary cut is a dumb move.razr390 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 3:20 pmNot judging your response here but you sound like you did a complete 180 as opposed to when you were considering taking a cut and how well your CEO handles it.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 1:43 pm
These are the goings-on at my place of employment ATM. They didn't include sales in the mandatory cuts they implemented last week as "making no commission is already a serious pay cut" (words of the CEO) and asked anyone who can to volunteer for larger cuts if we'd like...
I'm good, dog. I'm not here to be part of a family. I'm here for the money. I'm only willing to do this for so little
You can still be a family about it. You’re in sales, obviously your commission is a decent cut. But it’s interesting to see you flip/flop on your mindset lol.
A. You may never get that back
B. If they wind up having to lay people off, that wouldn't be a deciding factor
C. Already taking a 40% compensation cut
D. Best to get cash and save it now while the gettings good
I haven't gone into full zero spend mode or anything as I think spending is important and I want to live my life... but I'm also trying to be prudent.

My sister in law and her husband have 2 rental properties in Huntington Beach with a collective monthly mortgage obligation pushing $20k. Usually fine, but they're obviously not rented now. They also just bought a $2.5M water front condo to live in...using the "equity" in the rental properties mostly to do so. They're "concerned", but his family is loaded and will probably just bail them out if Trump doesn't.
I don't really feel bad for anyone that got themselves into that situation.

If we all have the money to “scoop” there won’t be a discount. That’s not how economics work

The Airbnb fucks probably have so many already because they’re relying on them for their only revenue stream now. So with them going unrented for a month or more, they likely won’t be able to pick up another 10.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 4:19 pmBecause you can others can also... prices won’t go down if most stay employed. Maybe, but I doubt there will be some sort of wealth redistribution due to this...
I think the more likely scenario is that a bunch of 1%ers are't impacted that much and scoop up rental properties and the rich will get richer, I'll still be in garageless 1100 sq. ft. paradise where I belong.

Of course there will. Tons of middle and working class people will become poor while the rich get richer.max225 wrote:Maybe, but I doubt there will be some sort of wealth redistribution due to this...

Pretty much everyone on this forum is rich.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:49 pmAin’t nobody “rich” on this forum so we all going down togethertroyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:46 pm Of course there will. Tons of middle and working class people will become poor while the rich get richer.
I mean, just about all members are at least like... 10%ers. Even Troy who thinks he's broke as hell. Having more than 90-95% of the residents of the richest country on earth is pretty damn rich. What is it you wish you had that you can't have?

Everything is relative. Look how rich china has gotten. If you want to compare us to other countries so be it... to me rich is 7 figure assets + not counting 401k or houses.
That’s the definition of “rich” in my book. I understand that to someone in Mogadishu a 1984 corolla is a symbol of being rich but that isn’t the point.

We gotta put a spermwhale on Jupiter, so you and millions of others stay in the fields and mines and work.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 6:15 pm7 Million still puts beer in the Fridge and Fritos in the cupboard.
