So while mass shopping for Christmas I came across a mushroom log at William Sonoma. It’s exactly what you think it is, it’s a log that will supposedly sprout mushrooms in about two weeks. I decided we absolutely had to have it and ordered it up.
We went with oyster mushrooms but they also have shitake logs.

According to the directions, we basically take care of it like a house plant and fresh shrooms will appear right in our own kitchen.
It’s currently soaking for 24 hours per the directions.
I fully intend on wowing all of you with regular progress updates. I know you will be enthralled. You. Are. Welcome.

I thought we were going to be talking about Psilocybin.
Log is out of the soak. Hoping to see some white “pins” in the next few days. We might have to paper bag the whole log as Indiana winter humidity is loooow. We’ll see.
