We don't all live in the land of milk and honey my friend. But yes. Fresh is best but we don't always have those on hand or the quality is bad due to the season.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Aug 20, 2018 1:21 pmWith all due respect to these magic beans, aren't all canned green beans pretty much full on poverty trailer park food vs. fresh?

For a lot of produce, frozen ends up being more fresh than "fresh" in the end. Dunno about green beans in particular.

Not my best work and now I know the importance of a good steak. But some skirt steak, peppers, and green beans. With a little side of whiskey. Still tasty. But I was not fully prepared to cook steak. I’ll do better next time.

I agree canned green beans have their place and would be interested in trying your rec above. But their place is mostly with BBQ, etc....other comfort food, IMHO. Fresh green beans with garlic/asian spices are superb and are in a different league. Crisp, lots of spice, etc.

I love a good well marinaded skirt steak. They cook really fast though, and looks like you may have over-cooked this one. I usually give them a minute on each side, tops.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 7:49 pm Not my best work and now I know the importance of a good steak. The steak tasted fine. But my lack of skill and using a frying pan instead of cast iron or grill messed me up some. The steak did overcook to well done. But luckliy I did not dry the steak out. Moving forward ill try a marinade instead of just seasonings. A cast iron and better prep should help big time. I overcooked attempting to get a crust onto the steak.SAWCE wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 10:56 amI love a good well marinaded skirt steak. Look up a good "carne asada" marinade online, then soak your meat in that for a day or two before cooking. Bonus, cook your peppers in the left over steak juice that's in the pan, or throw them in the pan to cook with the steak, and then throw a few tortillas in the pan juice and pick up some good flavor as you toast the tortilla. Slice up that steak and you've got some quick, tasty fajitas ready.

All of that sounds great aside from the tortilla's. Ill stay away from those calories and carbs. But I can eat all the fajita pieces minus that.SAWCE wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:11 pmGotcha.. I do flank steak in normal pans FWIW.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:06 pm

$950 into fixes. Better than new now.
Had to snag pics. It's resting now. She looks good but I see where people.go with 24 hour cook times. Still feels firm.
This was more butter garlic and herb. No smoke this time. 550 degree 3-4 min sear each side.
Dem beans
