Homebrewing has been a sub-hobby of mine for awhile. I make beer from kits, it comes out nice usually, I have decent beer on tap at the hizzle.
Due to the house shit and life shit i took a bit of a break from it, but I recently jumped back in and made a pretty complex chocolate peanut butter kit that was DELISH.
So now I'm going to try to make my own beer for REAL. Still from an extract kit, but I will spice it myself.
I'm going to try and make a clone of this:
https://wickedweedbrewing.com/coolcumber-release/
I'll use a pale ale kit as a base, add Juniper berries like hops at end of the boil, then after a 5 or 6 days in primary I'll add a mixture of fresh sliced cucumbers, basil, and juiced basil and cucumber. then the next week is dub shows crawfish boil, I'll keg and carbonate in time for that.
I feel like this will be good on its own and pair excellent with crawfishes. Juniper berries and beer kit ordered from local store, will pick up today on the way home!

I haven't brewed since my daughter was born. Someday I will again.
I now have the space to put together an all grain setup so that will probably happen.

that takes far too long for me to mess with. also, even more equipment, have to store it, clean it, etc.....Calvinball wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2017 8:28 am I haven't brewed since my daughter was born. Someday I will again.

I'll snap some pics and post this weekend when i brew.
The house stove is a little underpowered for homebrew purposes, but i have it set up in such a way that its easy to do. I have new pot filler attachments and stuff that will make it even easier!

Yeah. I always have done partials, so even that is a good 4-5 hour job with all the cleaning and whatnot. Hence why no brewing since Auds was born haha.Big Brain Bradley wrote:that takes far too long for me to mess with. also, even more equipment, have to store it, clean it, etc.....Calvinball wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2017 8:28 am I haven't brewed since my daughter was born. That last one makes you wonder what special ingredients may have been in that beer.Big Brain Bradley wrote:

I haven't brewed in almost 2yrs I'm probably going to be putting much of my stuff up for sale soon as I don't foresee myself getting interested in it again any time soon. 3.5-4hrs time commitment per brewday just don't interest me much anymore.
FWIW, if you not interested in the investment required for a full blown all grain setup, brew in a bag, AKA BIAB is a cost effective way to get into all grain brewing.
I generally targeted 3 gallon batches which is perfect for two people and allows for frequent turnover to new batches. ...and if you brew something shitty it's only 3 gallons

I was going to take more pics, but got distracted by good conversation. New setup with pot filler for wort cooling is legit AF
