R8 coils.... aren't any different other than having a red plastic top.

Im also the guy who bought a 20k gti and put 25% of the cost back into the car with modifications. I too like to waste money.

Especially forum brahs. I mean. A spark plug either works or it doesn't. At 60k all mine worked, they were just getting worn to the point where it was time to replace them. I replaced coil packs too, which alleviated a misfire, by replacing them with new OEM ones. That misfire came back because of German engineering on the stupid VC gasket not because I didn't get red top Audi R8 ones.

I am at 43,5k now. I've been driving car fairly hard plus lots of stop & go. I have a friend who has been modifying VW's for years and he told me it's the spark plugs based on my description of what is going on.
Basically steering wheel feedback/vibrations when I apply throttle at over 40% travel at highway speeds.

You could pull them out and look. If one is caked up or oily or something, there's your problem. If all are a light grey they're fine.

You'll notice misfires more at low speeds and they'll make idle fluctuations. It'll feel like someone kicked the car or jolted it.
