Benchmade Bugouts. Gray for me, Blue for the wife:

Some kitchen knives by Dalstrong from Amazon on Prime Day. Pretty nice. Heavy, well balanced and sharp as hell.

Turn it around Bluray / Double LP. Cool documentary about 924 Gilman and the east bay punk scene.

Got this for free from Weber for buying the expensive grill. Pretty nice, hard cover.

weird crop resizes.... whatever.
Those kitchen knives look nice. Never heard of that brand. Legit?

My friend owns an online gun retailer (kygunco.com) and he took me to the Bahamas with a Benchmade rep. once. Dude was an asshole. Kershaw for me.

I had never heard of them, but the reviews were legit, so I figured I'd try them. They feel great and were delivered with a much better edge than my "top of the line" Henkels.

I'm a huge Benchmade whore for production knives. I have some Kershaws, but they are on a much lower level of quality IMO.

They are sweet!

Super thin.
Super light.
Very deep carry clips.

I'm going to rotate mine in with the 940-1 Osborne Carbon fiber and the 590 Boost that I EDC.

haha just busting your chops! 😁

In our house my wife buys all small/daily things new, packages coming in the mail as often as 3x week when she goes off on a tangent. Wrangling that spending spree in is :lolgasm: cause she gets mad unless i find an entertaining way to express my scroogeness, only to :troywax: every couple of years on something rediculous like a third car or beach house.

I try to keep all the old shit unit she finally snaps and purges out the excess with whatever means is available to her. Garage sale, then big ticket items hit our local crangslist (our version is kijiji.ca), and finally the garbage. On that day I dare not take the trash out or I'd be trying to sneak things back into the house.

Because we already own luggage that seems to work fine. She watched a Rick Steves video and decided that we needed the backpacks like he sells. :iono:

I think kershaw is the best "value" for $. Clearly Benchmade is a GREAT knife and benchmark of quality but really :waxer:

Anyone have recommendations for wireless headphones? My wired Klipsch S4's shorted out at the gym.

I'm kind of torn between the Jaybird X3's and the Bose Soundsport.

I had Jaybirds, but :doge: ate them while I was charging them one night. I went with cheap wireless ones from Phaiser, Detroit has the same ones. Been using them for probably 6 months or so now with no problems. They actually pair to my phone faster than my jaybirds did.

Works really well, from what I can tell so far. I've poured a good sized glass from 2 bottles and the cork seals right up when you remove it. It uses argon gas to offset the wine you pour, so it is supposed to be able to keep the wine nearly forever without it spoiling, so you don't have to finish a whole bottle of one type if you want to sample.

Image

The only disappointment is that is it nearly all plastic construction, at lease what you touch. There is another model with a rubberized grip but it's like $100 more.. for $350 retail I would have hoped this thing was all metal. Oh well, performance is most important in this case.
Update on this. 5 days later I poured another glass from one of the bottles and the wine tastes perfect.

Seems like a legit :notbad: gadget.
That's cool and good to know, but I'm never going to need it.

I just wish a couple things of Kershaw:

1. Make them feel better in your hand. Most feel cheap in the hand.
2. Stop making liner lock and frame lock knives. I don't trust them to be secure.

The Benchmade Axis lock is far superior, IMO and Benchmade usually uses better steel that will hold an edge better and last longer. My Kershaws are literally "throw away" knives that I will abuse and break w/o giving one shit. Need to pry something and only have a Leek on hand?? No problem. Need to remove a screw and the tip of the knife kinda fits?? Sure.

The Benchmade Griptilian looks nice. A little cheaper than the Bugout.

Know if any of their stuff, possibly in the tactical line?, have things like a window breaker on them? It'd be nice to have a little more function than just a knife for that much $$$.

Not that I know of. Some in the Rescue line have glass breakers, but they are more expensive.

http://www.benchmade.com/rescue-knives/ ... riage.html

Most of the "good" knives with a glass breaker are fixed blades, but you really don't want to carry one of those in California with the fucking idiotic knife laws we have (carrying a fixed blade and having it partially covered and considered "concealed" carries a heftier penalty than carrying a concealed handgun without a permit.).
