I wanted this cabinet for the door shelves. THREE units at my local Sears all looked good from the box condition, but the cabinets were all smashed once opened. I ended up going with Gladiator to match the rest of my garage, but I still miss the idea of door shelves.

Oh, this came today:

1,000 rounds of Winchester M855. Totally not needed, but with California laws I'm buying a lot more than usual and have more inbound on brown and white trucks.

Nice. I brought the first one home and the doors were caved in. When I returned it I went on the dock of the Sears store and opened the other two and had the same issue. :( My local sears store gets so much damaged crap I don't take anything anymore until I open it up and inspect it.

Due to timing I ended up with a 48" wide and a 36" wide Gladiator cabinet. Those two are the ready to assemble units I got at Lowes, but they match with my welded units fine except the bolts holding them together.

I'm still :jelly: of your shelves, bastard.

Finished the second one of these today and ordered a third kit.

Now I just need to put them in the blasting cabinet, then apply the finish and add the Trijicon sights.

Off the chain purchasing going on here. So far this year I've bought a MacBook Pro, an iPhone 7, and a pair of skis. A nice monitor may be next. Or I may go on another 3 year buying freeze.

I know. But, I bought it in the 90's, so I get a pass. And, the frames seem to be listed on ebay for a decent price, if they sell..

I should list it up and see what happens.

Definitely considering buying a cheap airbrush and a small compressor to get some Warhammer stuff done quicker than using brushes.

I just bought this kit since I didn't want to run my airbrush off my big compressor. Surprise, it came with 3 diffrent airbrushes, one that is a clone of my Badger 155 Anthem that was $120 alone:

I am planning to use it later today on some guns.

Looking, I think Amazon may have messed up and sent me this one: https://goo.gl/w4oTSb

I just ordered a pair of rubber floor mats for my car last week from Amazon and it was only supposed to be the front pair for $80, but when it arrived, it had the front and rear mats. For all four, it's supposed to be $150.

How fine is the spray? I'm working on miniatures that are 1.75" tall and super detailed.

Pretty fine. You may need to do some masking though. Turning down the air pressure helps a lot too. On my full-sized compressor I would set my regulator to about 15 PSI and it would be a nice even pattern. I'm hoping this smaller compressor will act the same. I just wanted something so I can paint outside since the stuff I'm spraying requires a respirator and even uncured will require Acetone or MEK to remove any overspray, so not really indoor friendly or car in the garage safe.

I would mostly be priming and base coating with it, my brush on primer covers pretty awful with a brush and I'm too impatient to use multiple thin coats.

Will definitely work.

You may need to thin your primer and base, and then just adjust the nozzle on the airbrush to how fine of a mist you want.

Last night I coated one of my guns and it turned out perfect with the small compressor. I'm so pissed that I messed it up and have to redo it today. :(

The stuff I'm using needs to go onto a heated surface, so I have to use my heat gun to keep the surface between 120 and 200F. This stops any possibility of runs as the finish flashes onto the part. No problem, even outside in the the low 50's. Then you have to bake it for 1 hour at 300F.. no problem.

It's been a long time since I refinished a gun I forgot about the tolerances and build-up from the finish, even super thin from the airbrush, so when I put it back together everything was too tight.

Today I need to re-blast the part, file the rails to be a bit looser when unfinished and run the reamer through the holes again, then apply the finish again.
