The antenna is WAY bigger in the vehicle than your phone. Phone reception is limited by the size of the phone and the antenna that can fit in it.

Yeah, I might just do that. Figuring out what I want to do with music services and whatnot too.

I subscribe to Google Play Music already. So I let SXM go and instead pay $20/mo to have unlimited data in the truck to stream music with through Android Auto (which is 5/7). I'm on Project Fi so I pay per gig, so this offsets my data bill nicely.
I suggest this if you already pay for a music service and don't have an unlimited plan on your phone.
