Corded... :nope:
It was given to me free but it’s such a pain I’ve only used it like 4 times in as many years.

They aren't horrible. Personally I'd rather deal with the cord than the gas.

I got a free corded string trimmer hand me down from my FIL. Used it for 1 season and then bought my first battery powered one.

I just hate dealing with cords. They snag on something, or I trip over them, or whatever.

Many of my neighbors have corded mowers. Just seems like a bad idea. My next door neighbor saw my battery powered one and went full blast :mindblown:

Seriously, am I the only guy on this forum who hires out his yardwork? At $150/month base (not including overseeding, palm tree trimming, etc.) there is no way in hell I'm wasting my time with this stuff.

I do hire a guy from October through November to do my leaves. I absolutely fucking HATE raking leaves. $40/week for 2 months is worth it to me.

Raking leaves can suck it once you're old enough to have lost interest in jumping in the pile you've just raked.

:dat:
:word:

And my lot has 3 mature oaks and 3 mature maples, not to mention neighbors on either size of me with similar deciduous setups, which equals a fuck ton of leaves.

We had a few quotes in the $200/mo range. For our postage stamp of a yard, it seemed like a rip off. I don't mind doing it because once it's in maintenance mode, it's 30 minutes tops/week.

That seems REAL steep. Ive heard about $20-40/wk down here as going rate. I think @chalupabatman got his yard done for like $120/mo and was cut every other week.

All I have to do is get my leaves to the street and the city comes by and sucks them up. Takes me about 30 minutes with the blower a few times in the fall.

:aintcare:

If I had to bag them all, I'd probably hire someone too...

I wish that my across the street neighbors hired help. There are two corner properties that each have multiple mature maples.

They alternate not raking their leaves at all. One family is :amir: , so the wife does all of the raking by herself but never finishes because it's physically too much for her i guess. The husband won't stoop that low apparently. The other family lost their landscaper late in the year and just sais fuck it. Dafuq. :rage:

It works out for them because the winds usually blow south-east around that time of year so the leaves end up migrating to all of us on the other side of the street and fill our front gardens/landscaping. I usually have to clean that up about three or four times after I bag all of my leaves. Come spring i start in the backyard and pick leaves out of my fence and about every crack or crevice imaginable. This year i picked up all of my river rocks, scraped and blew out more leaves and put it all back.

Picked up a bunch of sticks and branches last week and put them in front of the garage. Went to KY over the weekend and when I got home the neighbors had picked them up and removed them.

Moving in next to people who care a lot about their yards has its benefits

I’ll be doing this. Impossible to get the wife to help me, and doing it solo is no bueno.

I’ll hire Manuel.
Yea that's my sitch, too.
