These shelves we ordered for the bathroom showed up today too. Wasn’t expecting them until mid next week. Nice to get the sink cleared off and cleaned up. Things are shaping up pretty nicely here.
They made massive progress on the front yard today. All dead grass/weeds are gone. Pavers for two little walkways and weed barrier all laid down and they got the drip irrigation system set up. Tomorrow they should finish it all up laying mulch down, plant some snake plants and succulents and put in a fence around the yard. No idea what kind of fence they’re doing, but I’m picturing one of those plastic/vinyl white picket fences.
Will look really nice when they’re all done.

So I started the foundation project. Holy shit it's in worse condition than I thought.
The plan was to hit it with the power washer, do some scraping with a 5 in 1 painters tool, hit it with a wire brush, fill in any cracks with some concrete filler, then paint.
Got some huge chunks of mortar that came out, like more than an inch wide, so I gotta hit the hardware store tomorrow to find something that is made to fill deep gaps like that. Any suggestions?

After scraping and hitting it with the power washer again.
You can see one of the big gaps on the far right where the old stone block meets newer cinder block.

Next step is to go over everything with a wire brush and scrape any new loose paint. Then I'll run out to the hardware store to see what I can find for to fill the big gaps then come home to do that.
This is going to be a few week long project.

Really curious what you use to fill gaps.
Also, any idea if there's a paint or primer you could use for better adhesion to the block so it doesn't peel again within a few years? My painter used block filler on the stucco on the garage

Went to Ace yesterday and talked to a helpful employee and brought home his recommendation: this patch stuff plus backer rod, which is kind of like a thin pool noodle you jam into deep/wide gaps to take upmost of the space before filling in the rest of the gap with the quick setting stuff.
Pics below.
