Trying to get the office sorted out and one of the biggest stumbling blocks has been the dog crate. Just a plain wire crate that we don't want anywhere else in the house. Decided to get a :troywax: fancy crate which let's us do way more with this room.ImageImage

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

Thanks! And it's a double so you can put a divider in the middle of you have multiple dawgs.

We will see if Jerry likes it.

:neat:

Our :doge: has seizures so the vet recommends no crate. We lock her in the basement or back porch when we go, but before I debated building something like this. Really looks awesome.

This was purchased. About 1k. I think it could be built probably $300 in materials or so

Master bathroom...

House built in 94/95, it's never been touched. Lots to do but I think I just figured out the shower.

Angle one and original plan...
Image

The open door leads into the master bedroom and the closed one goes into a linen closet. Plan was to move the linen closet door to the master bedroom side and turn the master bedroom into a pocket door then bring the shower out about 30 inches and have it curve back to original position... Back of the napkin.... 20k?

Angle 2/3 and new plan

Rather than changing the footprint at all, we pull out the fiberglass shell and pull down the wall to the left. Tile it. Wall to the left becomes a glass panel, plumbing comes to the other side. We pick up about six inches of length and an inch of width and most importantly it FEELS bigger.

The top cap, from best I can tell, is 12 inches of empty except for the light fixture. It will either go away totally or it will shrink by 4 to 6 inches. That will change the height in there from 6'8" to 7' at least. No appreciative difference but it'll feel way larger.

Stupid slider gets replaced with swing door.

Thoughts? Feedback? Comments?

I think your shower plan is solid. Replacing that left wall with a glass panel should look 5/7. There will be a cost involved in moving the plumbing to the opposite wall, but you can afford it. As long as there is nothing about that wall, or the area below it (assuming the plumbing is coming from below), that precludes moving the plumbing there.

I'm making that assumption as well about it coming from below. The garage is below, thankfully, so even if we have to dig in a bit it's not a big deal. The wall we want to move to should be fine.

I think even those few inches, with more light, really will make it FEEL huge.

Agreed. The few inches ( :jalepenis: ) combined with the wall becoming a sheet of transparent glass and coupled with the raised ceiling should really increase the feeling of yuuge-ness. :like:

Side note, clear glass shower wall provides a whole new venue for wife photo shoots! :hubba: :hubba:

Wondering if a solution like this would be cheaper than relocating the plumbing to the other side of the shower.

I think we would go with stainless instead of raw metal to temper that a bit.

And all the other points are extremely valid.
