I had never heard of a fireback before until just now catching up. Sounds like an awesome investment, though, I don't think it would work for ours given we have a pass-through. Womp.

I need to start planning for a big project or two next year.

1) the substrate on my driveway is failing in a 20 foot section or so
2) siding... I think I need need siding
FWIW I just replaced the then 108 year old cedar siding on my :haus: a couple years ago with new cedar and it was north of $40k. :yikes:
Do you have cedar or vinyl, or aluminum?
Fuck me.

Indeed.

BUT...

Playing the long game, the :haus: was needing a new paint job every 5-6 years at $10k-$12k per. The siding was stained on all 6 sides and carries a 20 year guarantee (and likely to last far beyond that) so after the 4th paint job, likely to be needed after 20-24 years, the money spent on the siding will have become "worth it". And, judging by the new garage addition we added 12 years ago with the same siding, which has virtually not visually aged AT ALL since 2006, I am optimistic that we'll get much more than 20 years out of it.

Still :troywax: AF :doe:

Thanks! I love this shit. Every day since we started decorating my toddler has come out of his room after waking up and nap time and goes 'yay it's Christmas!"

Worth it for that. I have a little more to do but almost done.

The trap we feel into with this house was it was so so much bigger than our last one that we didn't see a need to purge before we moved. Now, three years later, we still have junk boxes in the basement.

Purge starts this weekend with a goal of getting the basement emptied and organized. Then we will are going to make a simple home gym area in one section that's currently a disaster.

Saved for later

Step one is getting the floor in (just the heavy duty tiles) and some screens up to segregate it.

Then getting the shit we have moved into it and out of the playroom.

Lots on info for ways to do this cost effectively in the gym bro thread. Come on over when you are ready to buy things.

I'm 1500 or so into my setup and it's really nice.

You can :troywax: as much as you want, but we can get you setup with a solid home gym for not a whole lot of cheddar.

As :fax: mentioned, start with a good rack and barbell.

Jelly of the basement home gym. That's one of my goals, and one of the reasons I want out of Cali.. no basements here for the most part.
