I don’t wanna this thread and I think the only picture I have is from when he bought it and before he did anything. It’s Ford’s metallic gtey that you can get on the S550 mustang I think. It’s a neat-o project. Idk what he wants for it. You interested?[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 11:59 pmMore deets.RLWake wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 10:35 pm
Love the new Shaggin Wagon project. Hopefully the smog fix will be relatively DIY-able.
Reminds me of what my dad did not too long ago. He bought an old ambulance-that-wasn’t-actually-ever-an-ambulance and made it a camper type thing. Painted it, added a futon and paddleboard racks in the back, made like a deck with an umbrella slot on the top, that thing is dope. Plus it has the Ford 7.3 powerstroke. I think he said he’s gonna sell it soon.

Battery was completely dead today; so replaced that with the mid-grade Duralast option from autozone. CEL is gone even after driving around a few blocks. I’ll bring it by a smog shop tomorrow and see what happens.

there are about 10 smog shops in a very small radius of my house. I’m sure I can get it to pass by doing that for one of them, or throw a little cash at one of them under the table to just pass it anyways.

No dice passing smog. Dude said he wasn’t pulling any codes either other than a readiness code so he said put 50-100 miles on it to see if the CEL comes back and if it doesn’t that should at least clear the readiness code and we should be good. I’ll cruise up the freeway a bit tomorrow evening and see what happens.

Awesome buy. Once you get it set mechanically, I'm curious what your interior build is going to be like.
With so many people doing these camper builds, are there plans available by model? Can you buy interior kits designed for your van of choice, or is everything still basically one-off custom stuff?

Chilling in the driveway.,,. We've had some other stuff we needed to prioritize, but next month we'll finally get it over to a shop to get it mechanically sorted. Turns out one of my BIL's has a family friend with a body shop in Lake Forest area, so once the mechanics are done we'll drop it off up north to their shop and get the exterior fixed up for cheap, and then move on to actually doing the conversion inside.
