When I got my first :gorf: only ONE tech at the dealership had that bit and he had already left for the day when I picked it up. Since the window seal was bad I had to go back the next day anyway.

I do like how the shaved hood looks :iono: but that low is way too low. My ST coilovers were a great height.

I've always liked the shaved hood look as long as it is done well.

I highly recommend the vinyl tubing "mod".

Just 3 dollhairs or so.

If you're referring to putting it in the weather stripping in the doors, I did that on my Mk6 and believe it helped reduce door rattles. I also regularly lubed the striker plates with lithium grease and occasionally wrapped the striker with electrical tape. I meant to take that tubing out before the car was flat-bedded away but I forgot to. So far I see no need to do that in the Mk7.5. At this point it is pretty much rattle-free.

My first one was creak free for probably the first year. By 1500 miles in the new one it was already creaking like crazy over uneven surfaces. Tubing fixed it immediately.

Well, I know it's a proven fix so if/when it starts happening to the Blue Meanie I'll be sure to pick up a dozen feet or so of tube and apply the same fix that I did to the Mk6.

Just came back from our first road trip in the Blue Meanie. We decided to stay in Illinois and spend our money here so we went to the far southern (just the ) tip of the state, where neither of us had spent any time, to check out Shawnee National Forest and do some hiking in several of the parks, both State and Federal, contained therein.

Because I'm a :derp: I'll upload pics slowly, so be patient.

Also, I'll have some comments on the car after I'm done with the pics.

We left after work Wednesday evening and made it down to Springfield, our State capital.

We have a 5/7 capital building.

Next day we continued southwest toward St Louis to pick up the Great River Road, the scenic route that follows the Mississippi River from Minnesota all the way down to Louisiana. A couple years ago we drove it north from St Louis north to Hannibal, MO., so this time we decided to take it south toward the bottom of the state.
