Thanks guys.

I mean, I'll get a loaner and they'll fix it for free, but it's a hassle regardless.

Agreed but the whole point of a new/newer car is that you don’t deal with this sort of bs. Especially repeated bs. It’ll get fixed :doe:

I am really curious as to what’s causing the fault

Making good use of the warranty at least.

And now you know how most VW owners feel that don't get your lifelong :unicorn: experience.

It might be multiple trips to the dealer, but it'll likely get figured out eventually.

What makes me :rage: about technological "advancement" is the fact that airbags have been around for...40 years? Std. equipment for the last 30? They were pretty much figured out systems, and I can't remember the last vehicle I had that had airbag issues that I didn't create. But now, they're tied into so many other safety systems and sensors and whatever other :bs: that you have to drive around WITHOUT IT FUNCTIONING (I think) because a sensor or something somewhere is tripping a code in the computer.

They usually work flawlessly in the background until needed (not counting Takata :bs: ) but I agree, this electronic interconnectedness of so many safety systems is what's different now from past decades. Not that long ago, you had airbags and ABS, and that was pretty much it for safety features. Now everything seems to be tied into everything else. Case in point, my other issue that was fixed last week. Rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring use the same sensors and are routed electronically through a relay in the drivers mirror. My warning light for these 2 systems was fixed with a mirror replacement.

Exactly. The complexity of these systems now is just :mindblown:
