You had all those great vanity plate ideas and all you do is a blank plate.

.
And after all the tomfoolery and fuckery, you are still shilling for the :dillerman: with that plate holder ..... :impressive: forgiveness.....
JCW sport plate holder was a $500 option.

You have no idea the shit I just went through at the DMV.
My bank flagged my payment of the taxes as fraudulent and the DMV didn't complete my paperwork. Had to go back home and get a check to finish the transaction, talked to 6 people at the bank. I am starting to feel like this is all me. People can't be possibly that dumb. :fullretard:

The bank is now sending me a new card, even though I have literally used my card only once... they can't tell me why it wasn't working even though it WORKED for one of the transactions minutes before... sigh... 3 people from FRAUD called me too... even though I labeled it as a non fraudulent transaction as is. I need a drink. :disgust:

No idea, as I don't follow. My friend shared it to our group chat and I thought it looked interesting.

Funny enough both had the front grille lights like yours. Your color combo is still my favorite.

It's pretty crazy those two cars you took pics off have one off graphics and are literally in polar opposite color schemes. So random.

750 Mile update.
Got a second tank in the car... 28mpg, not great not terrible. We shall see how this progresses.

:whocares: but perhaps some of you will read this rant and it may help you make a car decision or indecision easier.

Have any of my feelings about the car changed ?

No, I still think it is at a unique intersection of fun/uniqueness/value. That is just nearly if not impossible to beat. I really do really LIKE driving this car, it handles great, and it has immense low end power that essentially lets you scoot through traffic, merge, accelerate on, on ramps with ease and downright joy.

It also has tons of "quirks and features" that make the car far more enjoyable to own than something made from a cookie cutter design. Changeable interior lights, a very engaging center light screen, that has 10+ features likes indicating when your turn is coming up, when you're too close to another car, how far your engine is revving etc. The stereo in this thing is also one of the best that I have ever had in a vehicle. A must have feature imo.

What do I still like about the car ?

1. Uniqueness, I will never lose it in a parking lot
2. Fun to drive, nothing comes close at this price, nothing.
3. Feature content is high, car has everything
4. Character, this car is just designed with one thing in mind.. fun, because no one in their right mind would blow 45k on a vehicle that seats 2, is FWD, and looks like a shoe. once you get behind the wheel of one of these... you begin to understand rather quickly. This is a standalone unique chassis, not some shared global platform that goes into minivans and giant earth destroying SUVS.
5. No gripes with the auto at all, I don't mind it, and I am not sure I would have enjoyed the manual more... I would love to actually have a manual and a auto in one household. Because they each have unique characters. :fullretard:

Is anything disappointing me ?

1. Mpg, while still far better than my prior cars, 28 isn't exactly great, especially considering how I drive the car and its size.
2. The vinyl is difficult to maintain and will need a refresher every few years, I think I need to redo the stripes on my car.
3. Value (see below)

Any surprises ?

1. How much the azn loves the car... weird...
2. The dealerships are all amazing, great buildings, amenities etc, they are also staffed with car people that really love the brand. That is not the status quo here.
3. The lights on this car are the best ones I have had in modern history (without the rally lights). They are better than any 3 series I have driven, C300, Acura TSX (all of which had the updated lights as well) etc.

Do I have any regrets?

:scrooge: ones but that's it. The final tally for the car post taxes etc was 26k. Which is certainly not cheap by any means, and used minis are completely worthless, so I certainly set a large amount of money on fire by having completed this purchase.
I think a 2013 mini cooper JCW at 11-13 k is a far better value if reliability remains on those. Looking at used mini listings R gens can be had for 4 figures in S trim all day long, and F gens can be had for low low teens all day long as well. I think they also present a better value, if I wasn't full on :wasteful: with this purchase, and had to give someone advice, I'd recommend a cooper S around 12-14k.
Also I do occasionally think about the Focus RS, as it would have been a bit more spacious inside, quicker and likely lower depreciating... but interior quality/feature content is far more entertaining in the mini. Hype R also crossed my mind because the lack of depreciation on that car and the fun to drive factor are really hard to beat.

So overall summary:
I highly recommend this vehicle (not the larger bulbous ones) to anyone looking for a fun DD that has a ton of character. I have very few/no regrets in making this purchase, and I really hope BMW continues investing in this brand/platform.
