I was mostly pocking fun at the stock market. Also cali was about 2-3 weeks ahead of everyone else on lock downs... so we've been part of this fun for awhile. Ya'll haven't hit the 4 week wall yet... which was tough for most.

Ironically my buddy saw it for sale before it was even posted on CL. He offered him in the middle of Blue book (7-9k) and asking 15.5. He said he can do 14... buddy saidDesertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:06 pm A 20 year old 4X4 with the same technology as a Model A. For 15 grand. So much

I don't even think I'd pay $10k for a TJ...any TJ.
They're loud (like a JL is a library in comparison), the short wheelbase sucks for long distances, power is OK, but nothing crazy...I'd probably be shopping old 4Runners or XTerras or something in that price range before a TJ.

I think around 10k is my upper limit. There are lot of things that suck about it, but it is a quick way to pump and dump in and out of the off-road scene without getting too financially involved.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 3:01 pm I don't even think I'd pay $10k for a TJ...any TJ.

Older 4 runner/xterras are lame AF IMO. TJ is at least somewhat interesting.

An interesting thing you (or more importantly ) will never want to drive the distances needed to wheel.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 3:12 pmI think around 10k is my upper limit. These are WAY more capable than people think they are. They're a great buy IMO, and the I5, while wonky and a bit underpowered, has proven to be pretty stout.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 3:15 pm

Pull off the stickers and I'd rather have this for $15K - https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... n=atempest
Or this is for half the cost - https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... n=atempest

I've been loosely on the lookout for a deal on a 5.3 one for some time now. Those hold their value.
I'd love a 5.3 H3T

Yep...in fact I believe all Alphas are V8s...it's how you can distinguish V8's easily.
But yea, they're
