Nicccee. The Swede actually found this one.
EDIT:
It's a even and doesn't appear to have a sunroof.
This is my perfect MINI

It’s an interesting optioned one. Full on base model with the updated screen. ~34k msrp new but it does have the led lights soDetroit wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 10:20 amWhat the shit, that's a solid price.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:27 am https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sal ... d=71500369

I like the spec a lot...it's really ideal.
The last thing I need is another car right now

Nothing is even remotely firm. The plan is to find a new job, but that's proving to be fruitless right now. There's potential options that spurred the MINI talk in the first place, but those are hypothetical at best.
I use the WAY too much to get rid of it. Can't tow the glamper with the MINI, can't haul shit to the dump or pick up landscaping crap...which will be in full force the next few months if we sell the house.
Too much uncertainty to pull the trigger on something like this right now, even though I'd love to.

This makes me 100% certain I made the right call backing out of my 2016 Cooper S order before it arrived. That's a lot of depreciation going on there!CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:27 am https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sal ... d=71500369

Yep, BMW level depreciation for sure. Max's MINI and my BMW were the same thing, new for mid forties, bought by us for mid twenties with sub 20K miles. Pretty for the first owners.
A Golf R on the other hand seems to do quite well in terms of depreciation.

And I suspect the MINI is more fun.

I think you did it right, is a new buyer, so it matters more. The MINI is more fun/unique and cheaper to buy. It basically depreciates like a new $21K car at the point you bought in, which seems fine to me. If you look at it like cost in - cost out / number of months owned = lease payment , a new R versus used JCW is probably similar... so do you want new/refined or lightly used/more fun. Neither is , just different experiences for your $400/month.

Yea money aside there were other considerations special to my case so I am not trying to dismiss anyone’s selection. One of which was that I never had a mini and I already had an eggD Griff wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:30 amI think you did it right, is a new buyer, so it matters more. Except being a crappy Ferd.
I understand why people like them, but I just can't do it. It's like you buying a Kia.

Yea I totally get it, I’d say I would have been more likely to get it if didn’t hate on “it’s a Ford” the stigma sucks, and frankly they are to blame for making mostly shitty cars for 20 years.
Ironically the stigma is what killed mini also, they made the most unreliable piles of shit, that used to sell at or above msrp, and hold their value super well.
But then the transmissions fell out and headgaskets popped all before 100k miles, then the next gen has timing chains popping by 70k miles and cArbon fouled engines by 40k miles and it drove away all the customers from the 3rd gen which is Actually finally reliable.
But now no one wants it because they think they are shit cars ... hence the depreciation... id never buy one new which is a shame because I think I’m a complete target customer for one... but a new jcw depreciates $1000 a month for the first 2 years
I also love the new GP
Yeah, I want one too. I will seriously consider if I wind up needing something more practical and don't keep the Corvette. It's the perfect one car to rule them all if you're a track day bro and don't have a brutal commute.

They’re really great on long drives from my experience.
Really? All of the journalists say they ride like total shit... but I kind of wonder about the truth of that/I'm used to a car that doesn't ride great. My tolerance is pretty high, I actually think the C5 rides fine with my Bilsteins and the JLU rides downright well.

The ride quality in a JLU is great, the steering/wandering/wind noise isn’t. I would 5/7 rather road trip in a JLu over a fukus and even my mini.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 12:33 pmReally?
