Updates: Dent dude pulled that thing out really well. I was impressed. Got two nicks in the paint that I need to touch up, but amazing what he did.

Here's some pics. The wheels have this sticky gunk on them that I need to clean off. Also, the wheels are hideous. I'll be going aftermarket wheels and tires at some point this spring probably. Downsize to 17s, better tires. No lift, I like the ride and dynamics too much.

Also went to the :dillerman: yesterday. Showed the post delivery lady how it ping pongs back and forth with lane centering. Dropping it off Thursday for them to look at that and a cold startup whine, which is likely just par for the course for CVT life.

Fixed that massive dent. $340 later :(

Took it to the :dillerman: this morning. Cold weather whine they said was just normal subaru things from the CVT + boxer + AWD diffs. Fine.

The lane keep assist was ping ponging back and forth. They confirmed, toe was out of spec all around. They did an alignment and said it's fine now. I find out this afternoon.

Outback is debadged. And ditched some really weak interior light bulbs and reverse bulbs for some basic LED ones. Need to get the black grill and window caps, wheels and tires, maybe some weathertechs and tint, and I'm done with this thing.

S2000 is always a work in progress.

Considering one of these:

I don't have a lot of S2000 content unfortunately. It's mostly sitting on a battery tender.

I fixed a patch on the roof this weekend that's there just because it's a high wear area.

It's a good car. Just loud and rattle-y.

Naw. There's a small patch on the two areas that are high wear to prevent any holes in the future. The patch was coming off one spot, so I just epoxied it back.

Haven't updated this thread in ages. So I bought a new house. I tried to make a move on a house with a 5 car garage, but got outbid. Ended up with this:

Image

3 car, but a bit oversized (24' x 35' I think?), so I'll have room for a shop area in front of the S2000. I close on Monday, get the keys on 8/11, then I have to move.

Still have the S2000 and Outback. COVID has me mostly remote though, so mileage has dropped big time. I moved even further away from work (36 miles each way now). Hopefully I'll be in a corporate role that's permanently remote 6-8 months from now. Still with the same girl from back when I got the Outback. She drives that POS Focus in the background of previous pictures. The powershit is on the way out probably, so she'll get something new soon.

Combination of old house selling for a shit ton more than expected + huge year financially at work - blood sucking ex lesbian wife = much better financial position than I was just a few years ago. What does that mean?? RAMPANT :plac: running through my head.

Woman will likely get a crossover of some sort. She likes the CX-5, but wants to wait for the new model to come out in a year or two. Or maybe we go a little bigger to a Telluride or something? Having a big comfy gas vehicle for road trips means one thing....

Replace the Outback with a Ford Lightning? I threw $100 down on one. We'll see if I even have a shot of buying one by the end of 2022, but the way I currently see it:

- $57k gets you an extended range XLT+ after tax break (if EV tax break goes up to $12,500, it gets even cheaper?). Standard range would be under $50k.
- Outback has only depreciated $4k in 2 years (down to $34k last I saw). :notbad;
- Gas savings = about $6k if you finance the difference over 4 years

We're talking about $10k-$15k to go from lesbo station wagon to 4 second 0-60 utility truck. Not a bad trade IMO.

Also, S2000 continues to rise in value... We're getting dangerously close to saying fuck it, getting a new BRZ for tiny bit more and saying good bye to 20 year old car things.

Ex wife, ex lesbian, or both? Also, where is this bad boy located? Also, any deets on the rest of house? I agree with Max however, that you are leading with the best side.

Ex-wife who turned lesbian was more of a money leech than I realized. :koolaid:

House is in Ohio. Here's the rest of it if you guys are interested. I figured you'd just want to look at the garage. It's a big boy, almost 4300 sq ft of space. All pretty usable doe. It's got room in all the areas I want: bedrooms are all a nice size, big living room, nice deck and patio, home theater, home office, and giant unfinished area for the SWOLE DUNGEON. :massles:

It needs paint, new hardware, carpet, lighting fixtures/fans, but that's all relatively cheap and will make it much more modern. The layout is killer though and what we were looking for.

Thanks. Went under contract end of June. Put it in an offer the day it listed. Listed my current house a couple of weeks ago, and had it all under contract for $26k over asking in under 48 hours. Market is wild around here.
