Oh I'm totally aware it's pointless hahaha
I was looking at the AFE intake as it seems to be the only one that's moderately priced. It reuses the bottom of the stock box but you can also get a cover for it so it's not just a hot air intake.

This thing from ECS seems like a good option. I just wish someone would make it in plastic at half the price.

That CF thing looks the part. Im skeptical of 26 degree drop but it def would grab double the air.

Id spend about 150-200 on that part tho, in plastic.

Can't you airboat the same thing out of an empty Natty Ice case? Free.99.

What is the aftermarkets obsession with carbon fiber? It looks cool for sure and there's better heat rejection but how much really? There is no way it's enough to make a noticeable difference.

I wish companies would make plastic versions too for people who don't care about blinging out their engine bay.

Better profit margins on CF
:dat:

Plus all intakes do is make sound and look neat. Take half that away and nobody would buy it.

It's less than superior. Very plastics. Such high too (1/4 inch too high?).

I like it. But if raceseng ever put out something a bit nicer that's leather wrapped, I'd be all over it.

The BFI knobs are nice too but have their logo on them. :disappoint:

Are you going to get the dieselgeek shifter?

That's my worry Raceseng is all I'd get and they are going to be a billion degrees in the summer.

Probably not. I LOVED it in the GTI but... Did you?
Could ask [user not found], he has those knobs. Claims they aren't too hot or cold but :iono: I had a metal shift knob once and never again for me. Leather is where it's at for shifters.

I only had the euro lever in my GTI which feels pretty much the same as what's in the R now. I don't think I've ever seen a bad review of the dieselgeek. Everyone loves them so I was thinking of doing that and some bushings for the R.

Pretty much just trying to improve the inputs on this as opposed to going nuts with bolt ons. The bleeder block and pedal spacer have already helped. Next up would be the shifter and maybe a knob if someone made a good one.

Doesn't Raceseng make some models with delrin covers now? That's probably the way I'd go.

Yeah but black plastic. Just doesn't look good with a superior interior IMO.

But I'm probably :wrong:

You are. :lolol:

Looks exactly like the rest of the black plastic in the interior.

No way. Stock knob looks way better than black plastic.

I went with the OEM Audi S3/RS3 shifter, and a set of shifter cable and mount bushings. It's a 15% reduction in throw but completely removes any slop, while keeping a factory feel... all in for about $80.

Also, don't forget FCP Euro for their lifetime warranty on their parts.

Do GTI and R use the same shifter? I had the S3 Euro lever in my GTI and the R feels pretty much the same.

[user not found] wrote:I don't think I'm going to do the Diselgeek. The shifter is way more precise than the stock was in the GTI. Maybe it will develop some slop over time but right now it's pretty damn good.

Second, not sure on the bleeder block. I don't see an issue with the clutch :dunno:

I am getting a shift knob doe
You don't notice any inconsistencies? I felt like the grab points were different all the time before putting the bleeder block in. Rolling 5mph starts from first gear are still annoying but the clutch actually behaves the same on every change now.

Strangely enough I never noticed it in my GTI.

I think a custom Raceseng sphereology in blue and silver would be sweet. :waxer: knob doe.

Faulkner out in Mechanicsburg. Locals didn't want to dill and its only 75 minutes from me.
My son works there....likely too new to have helped your deal but he might be able to pull strings on service and what not down the road....

Grats on the :gorf: best of luck with it.....I plan on having one in about 12 months....

Right. The bleeder block eliminates those inconsistencies. In day to day driving that was incredibly annoying.
