It's got a relatively kick ass interior/seats and the colored gauges.....Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 7:55 pmSame. Way underrated and rather undervalued right now IMODesertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 7:54 pm
I really like unmolested versions of this car. Lots of people think it's meh, but I dig it.

Have your gone through and sorted which ones of these are more/less reliable on the head bolt thing?troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 7:56 pm2012 C63 AMGDetroit wrote: 4th gen fbody with a brub stick.
Or a GTO 6.0...
That car can be a steal when carefully selected?
You don't remember the horror stories from the dead forum?
People were always complaining about issues with south bends. Enough for me to be all if I ever did a replacement. I'd go as close to OEM as possible.

I think it's 2012-13 but would have to look it up again. Automatic only so it's not fresh in my mind.Desertbreh wrote:Have your gone through and sorted which ones of these are more/less reliable on the head bolt thing?

It’s about the same speed as a 2010 grand sport with a 6.2 liter V8 using the same logic why didn’t you grab the z06 with the 7 liter?

I regret that. fixable valve spring issues aside, the 7 liter LSX is kick ass. That Z28 with that engine is a collector car.

The manual transmission GS 6.2 coupes still have some engine provenance. Hand assembled like the 7.0 and with the forged crank from the LS9 because of the dry sump system.

Very, I really like them. But a gt350 does the same thing and is a bit more ... um livable
According to Matt Farrah in his podcast the regular M2 is the better car - rides a lot better and handles better on real roads because it isn't too stiff/uncomposed over bumps. I kind of think that is ... but still, regular M2 is still great.
Looked them up as I thought they might be a good buy now... they are like $40K. For that money I think I'd rather have the GT350 as well, but I've always been more of a Mustang guy than Camaro.

Long shot, but after you do the tune, if you decide you need to firm up your drivetrain I still have a set of SuperPro engine mounts, part #TRC2001, that I never used. Supposed to be OE levels of NVH, but really firm everything up nicely. They're now discontinued but generally considered the best option made for the platform.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 8:47 am One mod I'm not going to do is a short shifter. It was one of my favorite on the GTI but something about it as is feels right. I know conceptually it's the same as the GTI was but... Dunno.

I'd be looking for $675 shipped, they were something like $879 when new.
Enjoy the tune!
Which one did you have? I had the S3 shifter in my GTI and I think this feels pretty much the same. It's definitely shorter than the stock shifter on Mk6.[user not found] wrote:One mod I'm not going to do is a short shifter. I'd still be super about firming things up with OE levels of NVH. If the OE could stiffen mounts while maintaining NVH targets, they would.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:10 amSuperpro makes great stuff.coogles wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 9:16 am

I've never had an aftermarket powertrain mount truly maintain OE NVH despite reviews and claims.

Replacing an old worn out part is one thing. But a brand new part in a mostly new car?[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:19 amIt'll have a bit more vibes than OE but it'll definitely resist the additional torque/power way better.
I just switched to the Vibratechnics mounts on the R53, and man is it a nice upgrade for putting the power down. Minimal impact on NVH, and I never have to worry about blowing an OE motor mount again (known weak point).
